hi folks,
another query in this regard.
can we take different scribes for different papers? as in one scribe
for paper 1 and 2, and another scribe for paper 3?
this would make search for scribes much more easier.
please suggest

Re: [AI] Scribe guidelines for NET exam

2017-10-27 Thread karan singhania
the information bulletin on the CBSE NET website is silent on the
following points:
1. who would arrange the scribe; candidate or UGC NET/ CBSE?
2. what should be the eligibility criteria for scribe in terms of qualification.

owing to this centre superitendents have varying views.
i have also written to UGC NET's e-mail address (as given in the
information bulletin) but have not yet received any response.
if anyone has any official notification which can be used, it would be
very helpful. otherwise, there are chances of surprises/ shocks on
the exam day.
members, please throw light on this.
thanks
karan

thanks for your inputs.
the problem is resolved now and this is what i have deduced.
jaws 16 works fine with office 2010 32 bit version and not with office
2010 64 bit version. (this is specific to excel as far as my
experience goes)
earlier i was using office 2010 64 bit version.

 Hi Dinesh,

HDFC bank does not have a captcha per se. You need to check a checkbox to
confirm if the image and associated text is what you entered. Your screen
 reader
should be able to read the file name of the image which is what I use to
 judge
if that image is similar to the base image I setup. I can use the vOICe but
 that
will take a few more seconds which I choose not to spend. There is also
 text
which is easily readable. As for the link I use, here goes.

In that case, could you please share the link from where you loged in?
In my case, the capture comes on the password entering screen.
I have used hdfcbank.com and then used the net banking option to login.

 Hi Karan,

I use HDFC bank's website regularly.
 1. If using jaws, turn off the option to filter conexecutive links.
For all graphical links, route the jaws cursor to the pc cursor and
double cleck. You can use a similar procedure for NVDA where you route
the focus to the current position in the virtual buffer.
 2. Using firefox is a shade easier since you can hit enter on
 non-graphical
 links.
 3. Be careful with the menus. When using the funds transfer options,
when you hit on the funds transfer link, the relevant options appear
below the funds transfer link in a list.
 4. The balance in the financial summary appears in a single line and
 not
 in
 a
separate table as it used to so read the page carefully.
 5. Let me know if you are having issues with any specific part of the
 site.

Re: [AI] Please note Finance Bill 2015 benefit for disabled Fwd: Tax Relief To Family Members of Differently Abled

2015-04-26 Thread karan singhania
hello,
first of all, thank you so much for this info.
just a couple of clarifications required:
1. with respect to the point 1st, what kind of proofs would be
required? The point is broad enough to include a lot of expenses,
which can't be substantiated with evidences in all cases.
2. is this deduction in addition to the deduction available under section 80U?

Section 80DD of the Income Tax Act, 1961, inter alia, provides for a
deduction to an individual or HUF, who is a resident in India, and

 * Incurs expenditure for the medical treatment (including nursing),
 training and rehabilitation of a dependant, being a person with disability;
 or

 * Pays any amount to LIC or any other insurer in respect of a scheme for
the maintenance of a disabled dependant.

The section provides for a deduction of fifty thousand rupees if the
dependant is suffering from disability and one hundred thousand rupees if
the dependant is suffering from severe disability.

Dependant in the case of an individual, has been defined to mean the
spouse, children, parents, brothers and sisters of the individual or any of
them, and in the case of a Hindu undivided family, a member of the Hindu
undivided family, if such person is dependant wholly or mainly on such
individual or Hindu undivided family for his support and maintenance.

In view of the rising cost of medical care and special needs of a
differently abled person, Finance Bill, 2015
 http://indiabudget.nic.in/ub2015-16/fb/bill.pdf proposes to amend section
80DD of the Income-tax Act so as to raise the limit of deduction in respect
of a person with disability from fifty thousand rupees to seventy five
thousand rupees and in respect of a person with severe disability, from one
hundred thousand rupees to one hundred and twenty five thousand rupees.

This was stated by Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State in Ministry of
Finance in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

 Karan,

To begin with you can buy a local guitar. Not sure of shops in Ahmedabad.

You will need to find a Guitar teacher who can start you off. I am sure
you can find people in Ahmedabad who can guide you. If you were in Delhi,

 I
 could have directly helped.

 Learning guitar requires

 1. a passion for music
 2. a sense of rhythem
 3. Preparedness to invest time in practice. It is practice that takes you
 forward.
 4.
 Good teacher

I believe you should be able to do it.

 George

[AI] outlook 2010 queries.

2014-06-20 Thread karan singhania
Hi folks,
I've configured my college's e-mail ID in outlook 2010. my mail
account contains around 8000 mails and thus occupies around 8-9 GB of
memory space.
after downloading 3000 mails, I am not able to see outlook downloading
more mails. I've pressed F9 multiple times and also schedule it to
update automatically through send/receive tab.
please suggest how can I fix this issue.

 Hi List,

Another good move which we are able to see due to RBI and IBA
guidelines. Banking Codes And Standards Board of India which lays down
the voluntary codes adopted by banks, in its 2014 version of Code of
Bank's Commitments to Customers have included a section on senior
 citizens and differently abled.

The 2 most important clauses one borrowed from RBI circular of course are:
  x. We will ensure that all the banking facilities such as cheque book
facility, ATM facility, Net banking facility, locker facility, retail
 loans, credit
cards etc., are invariably offered to the visually challenged without
 any discrimination.
xi. We will render all possible assistance to the visually challenged
 for availing various banking facilities.

All these efforts have insured that at least the basic banking
services are not denied to visually impaired. Although in terms of the
credit facilities such as Credit Card, Loans, and some others we still
 need to do a lot.
