Re: [AI] Anyone tried the buzz clip?
We have to see smart cane in its right perspective. The objective is to provide two kind of information: 1. Detect Obstacle from knee to head height 2. Detect obstacle with a physical touch. Another important aspect is that this provides additional information to whatever white cane is doing. So even if I am in crowded place, I know that the next obstacle is how far. I use it extensively for cue following too. If I am standing in a cue, then I come to know when person standing in front of me as moved ahead. And I can do this without hitting the person again and again with my white cane.. This of course is a crowded place. Thus it all depends on what situation we are in, the purpose and utility will vary. I personally see this as a tool that provides additional information and I use it when ever and there is a requirement. I also keep it on even when I am with sighted guide and I keep getting some useful information about my surroundings and I am able to control my speed based on this information.
