The annual general assembly of the International Federation of Film
Producers Associations (FIAPF) being held in Cannes this month will
discuss the issues of access to public works by visually impaired
persons and persons with print disability.

FIAPF First vice president T P Aggarwal, auditor L Suresh and executive
committee member Supran Sen will attend the meeting on 18 May.

This year's general assembly assumes particular significance as apart
from the other items, there will be discussions on the key issues and
challenges for world-wide film producer community.

Among the key issues, the most important is the focus on the diplomatic
conference at Marrakech (Morocco) on the access to public works by
visually impaired persons and persons with print disability.
FIAPF will also be participating in the World Intellectual Property
Organization (WIPO) conference which will be held during the
third-fourth week of June.

The earlier three-day intensive discussion between WIPO member states on
the proposed new international legal instrument on limitations and
exceptions for the blind and print impaired failed to reach a clear
consensus.

WIPO will take a final call on the matter at Marrakech. A large number
of countries including India will participate at the Marrakech
conference.

Regards,
Vishnu
