Dear Friends,

India is a signatory to the Millenium Development Goals, in which India
stands committed to the allocation of 9% of the Budget for the Right to
Education. This is an Inclusive project for Disabled & Able Bodied children,
both. However, as is well known in the past - the Government rarely keeps to
their commitments where the Disabled are concerned. The Nau Kadam Yatra is an
advocacy rally comprising of eighteen children from the North-East (nine of
whom bear challenges – visual, hearing or physical). They are travelling to
many cities across the country, including New Delhi. Details are available on
the following link: -

If you feel strongly for Blind children please do check out the
initiative & express yourself. Also do state what you feel ought to be our
collective response.

       with best wishes
       yours sincerely
