Dear All,

Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), St. Xavier’s
College, Mumbai as completed its 20 years of services on 17th September,
2023. On reaching this important milestone, we have organized a series of
20 Tech Roshni sessions on diverse topics for Persons with Disabilities
(PwDs).

We are happy to announce our 10th online workshop on the theme “*Coding
with Screen Reader*” for persons with blindness and low vision on 6th January,
2024 on the occasion of World Braille Day.

Earlier coding or programming was considered tough for the visually
impaired; in the current scenario, Accessibility gave new path to the
visually impaired to do programming or coding with assistive technology
such as screen reader to develop digital society. There are lot of visually
impaired persons who do coding on HTML, Python, SQL etc.

In this workshop, we will explore, how coding with a screen reader is
possible by visually impaired professional.

*Eligibility: *Participants should have good knowledge of screen reader and
touch typing.

*Limited seats are available for the session. *Those interested should
kindly register by using the registration form link

*Resource Person:* Sai Darshan Bhagat (Principal Technical Officer at C-DAC)
 and Keshavan Nadar (Senior Technology Consultant, XRCVC)

*Criteria*: Persons with print disabilities such as blind and low vision.

*Date*: January 6, 2024 (Saturday).

*Time*: 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

*Venue*: Online Session (Zoom conferencing platform)

The registration link will close at 2.00 pm on Thursday, 4th January 2024.

*Important Note:*

1. Instructions to login will be sent by email on 5th January 2024, Friday
to the registered participants only.

2. After clicking the above-given link, fill in the form. Please do not
click on the Request Edit Access button. If you click on it, the form will
not be submitted. Once the form is filled then click on the Submit button
only.

3. Participants are requested to use their personal earphones/headphones
during the session.

4. After successful form submission, you will receive an acknowledgement
email from Google.
