I guess I will open one account in HDFC too (flipkart amazon sales) lol
someday, but for now kotak meets my needs just fine.
its mobile app is a bit meh, but useable if you are willing to deal with
its quirks.
the website etc is totally accessible, though.
811 is specially good because you don't need to maintain a balance, that
is its a 0 balance bank account with higher interest rates and all that
jaz. once you finish KYC certain limits that are imposed are removed and
you can use it without any limitations.
One thing which I liked the most was to get a credit card the whole

Preferably one should choose a branch near his or her place.
There are HDFC branches in every nook and corner of Bangalore.
Mine is the Kalyan Nagar branch if that helps...
Your friend can meet Ms. Anupriya or Mr. Arif in this Branch.
But as I said Bangalore is a big place, and its better to choose one's main
branch in the area wich is easily reachable because there are some
formalities that the bank requires you to go to one's branch where he or she
has opened the account.
Ofcourse for all other daily regular transactions, one can do it in any
branch all over India.
Since I stay in Kalyan Nagar, I opened my account here itself.
So Kalyan Nagar branch becomes my headquarter main branch as far as my
account is concerned.

Re: [AI] In which bank should I open a savings account?

2018-12-14 Thread Rishi Kewalramani
They have 2 types.
One is the basic one, which is 250 per annum
And the other one is around 550 per annum with more facilities like more
withdrawal amount per day etc.
I'm a basic user, hence went with the basic one, that is, 250 per annum.

Re: [AI] In which bank should I open a savings account?

2018-12-13 Thread Rishi Kewalramani
A Big Big thank you to each one who replied to this thread- your inputs
were very informative indeed.
Weighing all the pros & cons, I finalized on HDFC.
Went to one of the branches near my home, and doing all the formalities to
open an account was a breeze.
The staff were very courteous and understanding and very helpful indeed.
Infact I forgot to carry my photo, and one of the managers drove me home,
collected my photo and went back to the bank. And then he again left me back
home.
You guys were right- customer service and eagerness to help customers and
bringing things to a logical conclusion asap is really nice in the private
banks.
The manager and staff assured me that I and my needs will be attended to
properly each time I visit the bank or even over the phone.
Amazing customer service towards V I- kudos to HDFC.
Also being partially sighted, I like places that are well lit, clean and not
cluttered, and I really liked HDFC's branch in this respect. Very brightly
lit up and not a fish market, smiles.
Yes, 10k is the minimum balance to maintain, but it gives such a peace of
mind when transacting with the bank, either in person or over the phone or
net banking.
Just hope that they are understanding and helpful always and really walk
the talk, smiles.
So thanks guys for your valuable inputs. I'm happy and satisfied.
Warm regards,
Rishi

Hi
Just to add a point which is not covered so far, if you would be using ATM's,
SBI has probably the largest number of accessible ATM's.

Re: [AI] In which bank should I open a savings account?

2018-12-12 Thread Amit Bhatt
Unfortunately, visually impaired customers do not get user friendly bank
services and potal accessibility altogether.

You have to slightly compromise on using their websites and apps from
accessibility poinnt of view.

HDFC is otherwise a better option as they are quite customer friendly but
problem arises when we use their net banking on their portal, however, if
you are an advance net/computer user, you can somehow manage the online
activities.

ICICI bank provides fantastic services but again there is a hurdle in using
their portal for online transactions.

I would not suggest Citi Bank as their minimum maintainable charges are so
high.

If you wish to open an account in any Government bank, go for SBI but
frankly telling, no Government Bank can defeat the services provided by the
private sector bank.
Most of your queries and difficulties are resolved over the phone or using
their online applications.

Warm Regards,

Amit Bhatt

Hi Dear friends,
I wanted to open a savings bank account.
Hence wanted to finalize on a bank that is user friendly with respect to
accessibility, good customer service etc for the V I.
What would be some good banks to look forward to?
HDFC or ICICI or City bank or kotak or yes bank etc?
I was thinking of HDFC.
Will it be a hastle free process in HDFC without denying any facility like
Net banking, Debit card etc for the V I?
I'm open to any bank as long as its website and mobile app is accessible
for

net banking and their customer service is good.
Looking forward to all of your valuable inputs,
This is a little urgent, hence would appreciate prompt replies,
many Thanks in advance friends, sincere regards, Rishi

2018-12-12 Thread Shek Mohammad Ali
Rishi,
If you hold net banking and ATM facilities you do not have to visit to
branch for withdrawal of cash indeed. Even it has more flexibility like you
can transfer your saving account to your desired branch through net banking.
I'm not sure how much you perform online transactions, In SBI there is an
amazing feature called virtual cards, they just same like your debit card
but they are valid only for one transaction or just for two days they will
be on hold. This can be quite useful if you transact on any merchant site
which accepts online payment. You can generate your virtual card from 100
to 5

Subject: [AI] In which bank should I open a savings account?

Hi Dear friends,
I wanted to open a savings bank account.
Hence wanted to finalize on a bank that is user friendly with respect to
accessibility, good customer service etc for the V I.
What would be some good banks to look forward to?
HDFC or ICICI or City bank or kotak or yes bank etc?
I was thinking of HDFC.
Will it be a hastle free process in HDFC without denying any facility like
Net banking, Debit card etc for the V I?
I'm open to any bank as long as its website and mobile app is accessible for
net banking and their customer service is good.
Looking forward to all of your valuable inputs, This is a little urgent,
hence would appreciate prompt replies, many Thanks in advance friends,
sincere regards, Rishi

You can also consider State Bank of India as a good option for opening a
savings account.
Its internet banking portal and mobile app both are totally accessible with
the screen readers like jaws and TalkBack. With the State Bank of India
internet banking you can also use multi purpose app yono.

On Thu, Dec 13, 2018, 9:17 AM I can suggest you to open the account with the canara bank.
