Re: [AI] Information needed regarding the E-Paper of The Hindu

2016-12-27 Thread Sanchit Katiyar
Thank you Avinash sir for your kind information. It will really help.
But my point is that in the archive, the previous day's paper is
available not today's. For example, if I am accessing that archive
section on 27/12/2016, the latest paper is available dated 26/12/2016
whereas today's printed paper is dated 27/12/2016. One can read The
Hindu online for today's paper, but problem remains the same that not
all news items of printed paper is available online. So one needs to
read today's i.e. 27/12/2016 printed edition tomorrow i.e. 28/12/2016
in the archive section. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Certainly Mohib, I'm glad to share the ways which I adopt to read The Hindu.

1. Save the Hindu Print Archive URL which I'm pasting below and open
it daily to access the print edition in entirety.
http://www.thehindu.com/archive/print/2016/12/
2. Let me make it easier: for example if one has to read The Hindu
dated 26th December 2016, Hit enter on
http://www.thehindu.com/archive/print/2016/12/26/ If anyone facing
problems in accessing other dalies do write off the list. I'd revert

Re: [AI] Information needed regarding the E-Paper of The Hindu

2016-12-26 Thread Sanchit Katiyar
Shraddha. Yes, The Hindu has an android as well as IOS app for
accessing the paper. As far as android app is concerned, that is of
limited use. The placement of adds in the app is such that it creates
problems for persons with blindness. Apart from it, the app does not
get updated completely. For example, there are different categories in
the app such as national, international, editorial etc. When you click
a particular category, say National, the app fetches news items. But
It fetches some new articles with some old ones which are like 5-6
days old.

Apart from this, One does not get the whole news items of printed
paper in the app.

2016-12-26 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
Sanchit, the hindu digital copy is not accessible at all. I subscribed
it erlier, but it was of no use, since jaws doesn't recognize several
collums on a single pdf page, and it messes up one article with
another, so its useless.
However if someone has subscribed it recently, he can update us
regarding its accessibility. So far as the matter of the hindu in html
is concern from this mailing list, they are doing wonderful job, but
again they provide only 25% of whole what we have in printed version.
I have seen one more paper here, one mailing list also provide
Hindustan paper's html version in short.
But I would request you to learn how to read thehindu online, that's
the best solution in this regard. Avinash can help us in learning how
to cover full thehindu paper through its website. After some recent
changes in thehindu website, I am unable to access it through rss
feeds.

Re: [AI] Information needed regarding the E-Paper of The Hindu

2016-12-26 Thread Sanchit Katiyar
Thank you for your information. But my concern is do they provide the
print edition in HTML format or they take news from online edition.
It seems to me (I don't no it is right or wrong) that not all news
items appear in online edition particularly in the case of The Hindu.

2016-12-26 Thread Sanchit Katiyar
Dear Friends,

I wish to subscribe the E-Paper of The Hindu. I wanted to know do they
provide a single PDF for Offline reading? I checked their website but
things are not clear. If anyone has subscribed the E-Paper of The
