[AI] Issues using Outlook with NVDA
Hi Espeak is a TTS. Earlier it used to be the default TTS. Now they use Windows Core TTS. You can check in the list of TTS by pressing Alt+ctrl+NVDa Key+S It used to be the first item. Your laptop configuration is good and you should not experience any lag really. Harish On 29/07/2020 10:30, Vaibhav Saraf wrote: Hi, The RAM is already 16 GB on the machine. Espeak is another screen reader or is it an add-on tts for nvda?? Thanks, Vaibhav On Wed, 29 Jul 2020 at 10:23, Harish wrote: Hi Yes, Outlook and Office applications are resource hungry. You can close NVDA and restart after the Office application is open. You can also consider usinglight TTS like Espeak. You can use NVDA with minimal addons. Usually Laptops and Desktops have vacant RAM slots, you can increase RAM. Anything above 8GB should improve performance significantly. I recently increased my laptop Builtin ram from 4 GB by adding another 8GB. I am observing significant improvement in performance. It cost me about 4K for it. While I am on a message and the SR is reading out the sender, subject, time and other details, many a times even after pressing Ctrl the speech won't stop and it will give an experience that I am stuck. Also sometimes speech will go out like I have switched off the SR and will return back after 30-60 seconds. I am guessing this is all because of the heavy size and requirements of Outlook application. Have anyone faced or is facing a similar issue? Any idea how this can be fine tuned?
