According to forest officials, Jayan was attacked by the rogue
elephant while he was urinating outside his house in the wee hours of
Thursday.

Though other members of the house came out of the house on hearing
the trumpeting of the elephant, they couldn’t save him. as the body of
the victim was trapped in the tusk of the jumbo. When people gathered
around the house following the cries of other family members, the
elephant went back to the forest with the body.
