[AI] Problem with windows explorer.
Dear all, today I am facing a strange provlem with windows explorer. The tree view in windows explorer is not being displayed. I am used to browse my files and folders on my hard disc in tree view format. But now it isn't coming up. Also previously there used to be explore option on pressing application key. but now even explore option is not being shown. What could be the problem? I am using windows 7 64 bit with jaws 15. I welcome any suggestions. -- WITH REGARDS GIRIPRASAD MOBILE 92471 / 9441133367 SKYPE giriprasad.maddina "Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Hello Viraj, Before this solution eventually solved my problem, I was using a program called Explorer++ that is a free alternative to Windows Explorer. It is a nice program and that is another workaround this issue. Re: [AI] Problem with windows explorer
Hello there Viraj, I had a similar problem on a couple of systems. Here is a solution that I got from Access India itself that worked for me. Just give it a try, most probably you should be able to find a way out of the mess. open your drive in which windows seven is installed. Locate the folder named windows and open it. Look for a file called explorer.exe and coppy it. Don't cut it please, just coppy it. Now, locate the folder named: system32 and open it. Paste the file you coppied there and you are done." [AI] Problem with windows explorer
Hello, Lately I am consistently facing a problem with windows explorer on my PC loaded with windows 7 32 bit. While browsing through files on a folder, the explorer freezes and the folder is not responding message appears. After that, it takes nod less than five minutes to come back on track, and the issue often reoccurs. It has almost become impossible to work on a folder with a good number of files in it. I did a bit of Google search and found a number of possible resolutions, but I am not sure which one could be applicable in my case. Before I try those resolutions, I was wondering if someone in the list have gone through a similar situation and have found some work around. In anticipation. Re: [AI] problem with windows explorer
There was a discussion around problems with windows explorer a couple of days ago. I have followed the steps detailed in Amiyo's mail and my windows explorer, touch wood, is working fine since then. Before striking on that solution, I had found a workaround, by using a free program called Explorer++ and from the options of the program set it as the default program to open folders on windows. This tip from Amiyo seems to have done the trick for my windows explorer. As I wrote earlier, I had resorted to Explorer++ as my windows explorer was giving me lots of difficulties. Re: [AI] problem with windows explorer.
Hello, I am pasting below an old accessindia message from Satguru. It worked for me. With best regards, Amiyo Biswas Cell: +919433464329 Hi, I had the same problems in the past. A friend of mine had suggested 2 solutions that you too can try. I did apply both and they work perfectly for me now. 1, navigate to windows explorer; Windows-key+e, 2, now use the keystroke; Alt+p. Make sure Show the preview pane is unchecked. Another way to do this is; Again go to windows explorer, Alt+t=tools, O=options, Shift+tab to general, Right arrow to the view tab, Tab until your in the treeview, Now press the letter "s", Until you hear; "Show preview handlers in preview pane" By default it's on, Press the spacebar to turn this item off, And tab to okay press enter. The second solution is the following: open your drive in which windows seven is installed. Locate the folder named windows and open it. Look for a file called explorer.exe and coppy it. Don't cut it please, just coppy it. Now, locate the folder named: system32 and open it. Paste the file you coppied there and you are done. As I said, after making these changes, my windows explorer rarely crashes now. Hope that helps. Re: [AI] problem with windows explorer.
I have also been facing a similar issue. I did a virus scan and there was nothing. I am now using an alternative program, explorer++. It is a free program, and you can get it to open all the folders on your machine if you want. On 7/11/13, giri prasad wrote: > Dear all, > Since yesterday I am facing a problem with windows explorer. Re: [AI] Problem with Windows Explorer-please help me
If you choose the option of reparing Windows, your data won't be losed. However, it will be better to back up important data. Re: [AI] Problem with Windows Explorer-please help me
Hi, Just to confirm, you restored the system to a time well before the problem started right? If repare does not solve the problem, then your last resort would have to be OS reinstall. Hi Repair option would not normally remove contents from that folder. A good advise is to first take a backup. Re: [AI] Problem with Windows Explorer-please help me
No actually you can do the system restore yourself and you just need to familiarize yourself with the navigational system. It almost works like a regular web page. But remember though: if your system restore check box has been disabled under my computer icon, then you will not be able to perform this since you would not have created any restore points before this problem occured. If it was enabled, the system automatically would have created restoration points whenever you made some changes to the system. Any way, Goodluck. Vetri. Re: [AI] Problem with Windows Explorer-please help me
Hi, My suggestion would be to do a system restore of the operating system. I assume that you are on windows xp? System restore undo's changes that may have made your system unstable. The reason I suggest this is because system restore is simple, harmless, and would most likely solve your problem. However, it requires sighted assistance for a step or 2. Here is more information on system restore. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/systemrestore.mspx Here is step by step procedure to do a system restore. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 Regards --- palakodeti venkata satya vijay kumar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Dear members: > Hope your all doing well.
