2023-09-18 Thread Satguru Rathi

Hi,
Why don't you try the automatic description feature of the latest
Talkback. It provides options to generate description for icons without
any labels. It also has support for image description but have not tried
it yet.

[AI] Seeking Information About an Android App for Talkback Users

2023-09-18 Thread Lokesh Naik
Dear Access India Team,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to seek your assistance in locating an Android app that
was available approximately five to six years ago. This app was
specifically designed to aid Talkback users in reading unlabelled
images. I believe that the app might still be of great value to the
visually impaired community, and I would appreciate any help in
identifying its name or locating a similar solution.
The unique feature of the app I am searching for was its ability to
interpret and vocalize the content of these unlabelled images. For
example, in WhatsApp, if there was an icon such as the "send button,"
which was already labelled, TalkBack would pronounce it correctly.
However, in Telegram, if the same "send button" icon was unlabelled,
this app could still recognize it and announce it as the "send
button." This greatly enhanced the usability and accessibility of
various apps for visually impaired users.
Unfortunately, I do not have the specific name of this app, and it
seems to have disappeared from the Android ecosystem. It would be
immensely valuable to locate this app or find a suitable alternative
with similar functionality.
If anyone in this team or community is familiar with this app or knows
of an alternative that serves the same purpose, I kindly request that
you share this information with me as soon as possible. Restoring or
finding an alternative to this app would greatly improve the mobile
experience for many visually impaired individuals who rely on
TalkBack.
Your expertise and support in this matter would be greatly
appreciated. Please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone at
9113919994. lok...@enableindia.org to share any insights or
information you may have regarding this app.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to
hearing from you soon.

Warm regards,
Lokesh
