 Hi.
I will start with Windows Speech Recognition.
I setup Windows Speech Recognition, chose the voice activation option
during the setup, went halfway through the tutorial and then quit.
Now my computer has become a bit slow.
But I am unable to dictate.
I opened Notepad then Microsoft Office Word (via keyboard) and tried
to say start listening and then dictate, but nothing happened.
 Please help.

2014-08-14 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi.
1 I want to experiment with different speech recognition softwares.
2 I am able to efficiently operate the computer via a keyboard and
screen reader so I don't require Dragon Naturally Speaking. I would
have loved to test it but I have heard that to successfully use Dragon
Naturally Speaking you require JSay (may have spelt it wrongly) and
JAWS of course.
3 It doesn't matter to me what Google does with my text because I will
not be sending any personal information and will be doing it all for
experimenting purposes.
4 I want to check out Google Speech Recognition because it is
web-based and made by a reputed company, but I am unable to find any
website. Doesn't Google Speech Recognition have its own website???

2014-08-13 Thread Pranav Lal
Dragon does both that is, it allows you to dictate text and also control the
computer. I cannot comment on Google's speech-recognition. The disadvantage
I see with it is that your text is being sent to Google's servers for
recognition. Do you really want that? We do not know how Google will use
that text.

Re: [AI] about voice to text convertors

2014-08-12 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi.
I recently read that the Google Speech Recognition add-on no longer
works because Google changed the something that affected this add-on.
Also, I wanted to try Google Speech Recognition out but everywhere
speech recognition has been associated with Google Chrome and I was
unable to find a particular website for Google Speech Recognition.
Please could you share the direct link? Also, is it known as Google
Speech Recognition or does it have some other name?
Supported languages list will be present on the website right?
Hoping to hear from you soon.

The only speech to text conversion application that works is Dragon
Naturallyspeaking. Yes, you have speech-recognition that comes with Windows
but that does not recognize indian accents.

The only speech to text conversion application that works is Dragon
Naturallyspeaking. Yes, you have speech-recognition that comes with Windows
but that does not recognize indian accents.

Re: [AI] about voice to text convertors

2014-08-10 Thread Kotian, H P
Hi
To elaborate, there is an add-on with NVDA with which you can do some small
dictation of about 1 minute chunks. It is using the same engine which does
voice recognition on Android. It is necessary to have an active internet
connection to work with this add-on. This add-on is free.
