Curiously, ACPI events for the lid and the sleep button are now functioning. Does this mean I messed up last time I tested? I have sound after resume all right (modulo a lot of noise in mic), it's just the volume wheel that's acting crazy. To resume, with ubuntu stock kernel, the wheel is managed by gnome (I have the gnome slider appearing). Since 2.6.24, it changed to be managed by I-don't-know-what (I have an OSD slider that seems bios-managed), and it worked. In 2.6.25-rc, it's like in .24, but it's not working any more. I do not know what you mean by disassemble SSDT2, is this a step you would like me to take? Not sure if this matters or not but I can monitor the Graphics chip throttling in linux with the nvidia driver, and the brightness can be changed on the lcd and it recognizes battery, ac adapter etc, so most power management seems to work. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. [Bug 9487] buggy firmware expects four-byte IRQ resource descriptor - 2.6.21 regression - (was: Serial port disappears after Suspend on Toshiba R25)
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9487 --- Comment #37 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-03-24 09:46 --- The change was released in ACPICA 20080213: Fixed a problem where resource descriptor size optimization could cause a problem when a _CRS resource template is passed to a _SRS method. The _SRS resource template must use the same descriptors (with the same size) as returned from _CRS. This change affects the following resource descriptors: IRQ / IRQNoFlags and StartDependendentFn / StartDependentFnNoPri. [Bug 8246] 32/64X address mismatch in Gpe0Block - IBM Thinkpad R51e
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8246 --- Comment #34 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-03-24 15:18 --- Hi, I've just tested the patch in comment #26 again and--for the most part--works. :) My reservations are that the sleep button (ACPI ibm/hotkey, Fn-F4 key) only triggers once per bootup/resume, whilst all the other keys will respond repeatedly. More problematic, the machine will now fail to resume from suspend unless the Fn button is hit repeatedly (interrupt problem?). It will also fail to suspend after resuming unless the key is pressed. Attempting to resume past this fails, with no response. These effects are a regression from a kernel without this patch (and with the ec_intr=0 command line).
