Now im using the 2.6.29 kernel, if it's necessary, i can use the older.

DUCK% sudo dmesg|grep acpi
密码:
Kernel command line: root=/dev/sda8 acpi_sleep=old-ordering ro
DUCK% sudo cat /sys/power/disk
[platform] test testproc shutdown reboot

echo disk /sys/power/state can shutdown, but screen has a '_';, the box's
power still not down.

How evil this box is!

And i have seen this:
FADT: X_PM1a_EVT_BLK.bit_width (16) does not match PM1_EVT_LEN (4)
in dmesg.

[Bug 13065] FSC Amilo Pi 1505 reboots after pressing silent mode special key

2009-04-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13065

--- Comment #4 from Rafael Varela Pet rafael.var...@gmail.com  2009-04-14
20:32:47 ---
:-) maybe the MCE was a question of luck, I cannot reproduce it, but I can
reproduce the reboot every time I want. It is just a question of enabling
silent mode and run some commands.

In single user mode, sometimes I have to type more commands, sometime less, to
reproduce the crash. While running GNOME, the failure occurs almost
immediately.

In single user mode, if I don't enter any commands, the system seems to survive
for a long time. I can even disable silent mode and enter back in runlevel 2
and then into GNOME without problems.

I can try to run a memtest if you think it would be useful, but:

1. This machine *never* crashed since I bought (more than two years ago), it
doesn't matter if I run Windows XP or Debian.

2. It crashes in silent mode only while running Linux, since the first
version of Debian installed.

3. It is a long standing issue. I didn't reported it until now because it is
not a critical issue and I wanted to see what happens with newer kernel
versions.

  How about adding the boot option of notsc?

 Might try it, but from the log it looks like the TSC is already being thrown
 out, so I suspect its the acpi_pm timer stalling in higher C states.

Does you meaning the acpi_pm timer can save the box from TSC issue which make
box hang?

John:
the main contents of bad commit is quite simple as below, would you like to add
some debug printk to check the kt2/kt1's value?

-   t1 = inl(acpi_gbl_FADT.xpm_timer_block.address);
+   kt1 = ktime_get_real();
acpi_idle_do_entry(cx);
-   t2 = inl(acpi_gbl_FADT.xpm_timer_block.address);
+   kt2 = ktime_get_real();
+   idle_time =  ktime_to_us(ktime_sub(kt2, kt1));

local_irq_enable();
cx-usage++;

-   return ticks_elapsed_in_us(t1, t2);
+   return idle_time;
