[Bug 18864] Re: docking/undocking support isn't included

2009-12-10 Thread Steve Langasek
Ok, i'm committing a script to do this, then.

I would still like to know where it is that the event is handled for the
Prepare-for-undock key - partly because acpi-support is intended to go
away and it would therefore be good to put this functionality somewhere
else, and partly because hal is /also/ deprecated, so if it's hal that's
handling this, the handling is likely to break in Lucid.

output of lspci after setpci of HP6710b

the diff between lspci before setpci and after is this line in pcieport section

-d0: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 11 c8 00 00 00 00
+d0: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 11 88 00 00 00 00

no change in kacpid cpu percentage, though

Screenshot

My Custom DSDT build was not successful...

There were some errors on the post-install when I went to install
linux-image-2.6.28.10custom-20091209_2.6.28.10custom-20091209-10.00.Custom_i386.deb,
but I didn't know how to check what they are, and I'm not sure they matter.

I am getting this error in /var/log/messages when acpi=ht, if it helps any:
kernel: [8.916008] pci :00:1d.7: EHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug?)
01010001
