[Bug 36182] Erroneous package power limit notification since kernel 2.6.39
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36182 --- Comment #13 from Steffen Weber steffen.we...@gmail.com 2012-09-17 06:02:39 --- I'm getting tons of these messages on a Xeon E5-2430 (cpu family 6, model 45, stepping 7). Last Friday the total events counter got close to 2^32 and the whole system came to a halt. Upgrading from Linux 3.4.11 to 3.5.4 did not help. Someone mentioned buggy firmware above. Might a microcode update help? http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=YDwnldID=21385 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond. [Bug 44161] ACPI does not seem to reflect charging/discharging status for the battery correctly.
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44161 --- Comment #35 from j0lly jos.ferra...@gmail.com 2012-09-17 13:57:42 --- If use a needle and reset the (battery/bios ?!) from the hole on the bottom of the laptop the acpi events work correctly for few days after falls again in acpi issues. Have to shutdown and without powercord to perform the reset; have to plug the powercord again or the laptop will not wakeup. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are watching the assignee of the bug. -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond. [Bug 45151] [REGRESSION] [BISECTED] ACPI event stop to be detected
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45151 --- Comment #31 from Francesco trent...@dei.unipd.it 2012-09-17 20:21:56 --- (In reply to comment #29) Thanks for the test, when you tried the patch, did you also add acpi.ec_irq_force=1 in the kernel cmdline as in comment 27. No, I in test of my comment #28 to add the string. btw, we have another patch make_threshold_module_param.patch, could you try it without any other patch, and add acpi.ec_storm_threshold=20 in cmdline at the same time? Yes, I've tried patch of comment #27 and comment #30 WITH the respectively strings and both cases resumes the acpi, both resolve the bug. Thanks a lot for all your work!
