Actually, I lied, this is what conky really does in the tagged version that I
use:

[Bug 35802] New: Dell XPS-15 wrong power_unit (mW should be mA)?

2011-05-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35802

   Summary: Dell XPS-15 wrong power_unit (mW should be mA)?
   Product: ACPI
   Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 2.6.39
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
  Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
  Severity: low
  Priority: P1
 Component: Power-Battery
AssignedTo: acpi_power-batt...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
ReportedBy: stevie.truji...@gmail.com
Regression: No

The computer is supposed to have a "Primary 6-cell 56W/HR LI-ION".

$ cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state
present: yes
capacity state:  ok
charging state:  discharging
present rate:1179 mW
remaining capacity:  3907 mWh
present voltage: 11615 mV

When full, capacity is just over 5000mWh. Present rate is ~3500mW when using
400% cpu (Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2540M CPU @ 2.60GHz). I think these numbers are
way too low, making me believe the unit is supposed to be mA instead of mW.

m=1/1000 right?

[Bug 35622] Backlight control doesn't work with Acer Aspire 5750G

Created an attachment (id=59452)
 --> (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=59452)
dmesg with acpi debug enabled

I recompiled the kernel with:
CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG=y
CONFIG_ACPI_DEBUG_FUNC_TRACE=y
I hope that new version of dmesg is correct (please find it in the attached
file).
Thank you!

OK, the dmesg log is right at this time.

Then, could you please help to do 2 testing:

 - Press Fn+Right/Left key to increase/decrease brightness one time, then
attached the dmesg on this bug.

 - Please check if you have backlight sysfs, please try to modify brightness,
like:
echo 2 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
echo 9 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
  Does it work? then also attached the dmesg on this bug.

Thank's
