Re: TSM v7.1.1 install - bypassing validation checks

2014-10-02 Thread Rhodes, Richard L.
I got OC up and running, and hooked in as spokes our three TSM's that are at
v6.3. Those 3 instances have +1600 nodes. Other than that I haven't done
anything with it yet, so I don't know yet if it's really slow or OK.

This AIX lpar has 4GB mem, and also runs our mostly unused AdminCenter.

It's interesting that my db2archivelog dir is full! I've got to get a backup
defined and run!

Here is the disk space the TSM instance is using at this time:

Filesystem MB blocks Free %UsedIused %Iused Mounted on

Not that far yet!

I've got the install.sh run, that's all. Now need to create the v7.1.1 TSM
instance, then install/config Op center.

The system I'm using is a AIX lpar with 4GB memory. It's running some other
things, but nothing big/heavy (interfaces to some of our storage arrays). Will
be interesting to see what a completely empty db size is after creating it.

So how small of a linux machine did you use and is it big enough to run
OpCenter reasonably well?

It worked. I the install completed.

My, this install.sh runs MUCH faster than the v6.2 version!

Thanks for the help!

I now have a N (Next) option after the validateion errors.

Proceeding with install . . . .

Thanks for the help, but, didn't help.

I added the parm to the ini file:

 cat IBMIM.ini
 -toolId
 ibmim
 -accessRights
 admin
 -vm
 /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/jre_6.0.0.sr9_20110208_03/jre/bin/java
 -startup

/opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar
 -vmargs
 -Xms40m
 -Xmx512m
 -Xquickstart
 -Xgcpolicy:gencon
 -DBYPASS_TSM_REQ_CHECKS=true

Still got the exact same response from the install.sh process.

Thanks

Rick

another sql question

2014-10-02 Thread Lee, Gary
Looked in the db2 manuals, didn't see what I wanted.

Tsm 6.2.5 under RHEL 6.1

Is there a way to trim trailing whitespace from string fields within a select
statement?

Looked at the trim function, but it didn't appear to be what I needed.

Thanks for the help.

Have you looked at rtrim?

Rtrim did it.

Was looking in the wrong volume of the sql reference.
Thanks.
