We hate the version 5.3 ISC

2006-01-30 Thread Michael LaFrance
Windows 2000, upgraded from TSM 5.2 to 5.3 and got that useless ISC
interface.

IBM provided a version of the old Admin Center for version 5.3. Does
anyone have the link to the IBM site to get the old interface? I've
searched IBM and Googled and can't find it.

How to set up an automated Archive job

2005-10-26 Thread Michael LaFrance
It's been so long since we installed TSM that I've forgotten the process
used by the TSM outside contractor to set this up.

I have to setup a monthly archive of a file server. I have the archive
management class but can't figure out how to get the management class
associated with the node. I tried setting it up once but my data expired
after the standard 31 days.

Operational Hourly Monitors

2005-05-05 Thread Michael LaFrance
I'm trying to set up an operational monitor that will alert our TSM
operators that a tape is required from a "shelf" location. The shelf is
where the archive tapes are stored and they are required from time to time
for collocation.

The hourly script will check the activity log for ANR8765I. My problem is
setting the query to only search the last hour of the activity log. I can
make it check the previous day but am stumped by this "past hour" report.

Here is my TSQL script:
select msgno, message from actlog where msgno=8765 and
date(date_time)=current_date - 1 day

I've tried to adjust this script to query just the last hour of the activity
log but to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
