Server Migration
Dear All, We are running Tivoli 5.1.0 on a windows 2000 server, as the server is bacame old we would like to install the tivoli in a new server. can any one please give the procedure to take the necessary backup and restore to the new server. I had installed the tivoli 5.1.0 on a new server and i had initialised the server instance, but i dont know how to get the configuration from the old server to the new one. thanks in advance. Dear All, Recently our IBL 3581 L17 Library is replaced with new one. after connecting the new library Tivoli is not able to recognise the library. Dear All, we had created a storage pool recently and that was working file till yestarday, yestarday when we are archiving, client has given the ANS5092S error and stoped the archive, in the server log it is saying ANR0522W. ANR0522W :No space available in storage pool x ANS5092S : Server out of data storage space can any one let me know how to increase the space in the storage pool. i have two scrach tapes in the library IBM 3581 L27, and the running tape pct util is 74%. the server is installed on windows 2000 and the version is 5.1.0, and client is also on windows 2000. Thanks Richards, Message ANS2048E, is comming the error log, Environment: Tsm server V. 5.1.0 and client V. 5.2.0 is on Windows 2000 Server. I was trying to restore the files to the Network path to a X Server G5 Mac OS 10.3, when I try to restore the same files on the local/Network W2K it goes smooth without any err. is there any cross platform issue in restoring? I would like to know this because I like to take the backup from the X raid which is connected to Xserver from a Win 2K client, since all of my previous backups are taken from the windows I want to continue to user Win 2K client for backup/restore. When posting, help us to help you by providing a realistic amount of information, including your operating environment type, TSM client/server levels, and file system type, as well as message numbers (most typically found in the dsmerror.log file). In this case, it would also be helpful to have a lot more context, as in whether the restoral client and file system are the same ones which originated the backup file you are attempting to restore, and whether the operating system environment had changed over the intervening interval. I would surmise that your environment is Windows and that the file system type is NTFS. You may be trying to employ a relatively modern TSM client to restore data which had been backed up with an older client, where that backup client had a defect such that in the presence of an unusual circumstance, the data was not backed up correctly. This may be message ANS2048E, where APAR IC33922 notes that the backup may be bad, as addressed by other APARs. AIX Node Down
Hi all I am using TSM Server 5.1.10 on Windows 2K and One Node on AIX, and that AIX system has gone down for the past two days. Now I want to restore some files from that node. How can I restore the data from that node. I tried by Loging into the AIX node from the Windows 2K, I can able to logon but it is showing only the file spaces and it is not showing any files / Directories on that. Backup Tapes are Becoming DRM Media
Hello all... After taking the backup in tape DB1/DB2/DBtemp the media is beenin gooing in to the DRM Recovery media and i will not be allowed to take the backup in the same tapes. I have to Re-label the tapes and do the database backup. It is repeting every time, I cannot understand why they are changing to DRM media and how to Stop them. Hi Check wether the database contains filenames for that volume select * from contents where volume_name=[your volume name] If it reports any files. hi! I am also Getting the Same files with Box or Tilte simbole infont the file name of 0 bytes length. I observed that the files are been created when I copied the files from the Unix or Mac Clients. Hi Sory to say that I could ot yet integrate after adding the line passwordaccess generate to the DSM.opt It is creating filespace but it is not migrating the files from DX to TSM It is giving the same Invalid Configuration.
