Export tape list

2014-02-21 Thread Bill Boyer
I have a customer that was given a stack of tapes that are apparently EXPORT
volumes and that's as much as they know. I ran an IMPORT on one of the tapes
and got all the information and then failed on an incomplete volume list
since I only gave it 1 tape on the IMPORT command.

How can I determine the order of the tapes for the import? Or doesn't it
matter as long as I specify all of them on the IMPORT command? Or am I just
plain SOL?

Not knowing how many tapes are in the stack, I usually run the import command
on all volumes using the preview=yes option.
It will dump the info to the console of what's on the tapes without actually
executing the import.
