The Linux client is installed in /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin. I've had it working using dsmj and XMing as the X-Windows server. We configure our linux machines to use run level 3 only and configure the managedservices option in the client options file. This enables you to use the web GUI interface from a browser, remote or locally. Page 308 in the 5.5 BA user guide.
