Hi Szabi, I am from Spectrum Protect development. Please find my email in the mail closing. Could you please provide me the ticket number for your support case directly to my mail? Will see if I can help you to solve this problem. Re: Spectrum Protect Plus experiences and offloading to AIX issues
Hi Dominic, As our Spectrum Protect servers are running on AIX, I have created a new Lubuntu VM as the object agent host system. When trying to define a new server on the Spectrum Protect server, I am getting the following error message: Protect: >def server SPP-Offload-Linux hla= lla= objectagent=yes ANR4623E The definition for object agent SPP-OFFLOAD-LINUX must specify an HLADDRESS that matches an address in the server's default certificate. ANS8001I Return code 1100. I have provided the object agent's IP address in the hla field and the port number in the lla field which I got from the Spectrum Protect server by running 'q opt TCPPort': Protect: >q opt TCPPort Server Option Option Setting - TCPPort As far as I know, we are using CA-signed certificates. IBM has told me that 'this fails because it does not have any reference to the Object Agent host in it's SAN'. I am puzzled how to get around this certificate issue. Have you also used an additional object agent host system? Have you also experienced this certificate issue, if so, how did you get around it? Spectrum Protect Plus experiences and offloading to AIX issues
Hi all, I am currently testing IBM's Spectrum Protect Plus (SPP) software and I am wondering whether there is anybody out there who is actually using this product in a live environment. I would be interested in your experiences with installation, configuration, offloading and in general. Our Spectrum Protect servers are running on AIX and so far I could not make offloading work (via a Linux object agent host system). I find IBM's documentation very vague with regard to the offloading feature when using a Linux object agent host system and their support did not manage to clarify things yet. Many thanks in advance, --- Szabi Nagy Systems and Storage Administrator HFS Backup & Archive Services University of Oxford
