Traffic estimator service API

2011-03-15 Thread Jtbm
Hi

When using the web interface to pull a keyword estimate it is not compulsory
to fill in the max cpc so that it uses an unlimited budget.

Is it possible to replicate this scenario via the .net API ?

When I create a AdGroupEstimateRequest instance, I have to define a micro
amount otherwise it doesn't return any result. I have tried to set a high
number but it still doesn't match the web interface figures with no max cpc
defined.

However, the figures match perfectly when max cpc is defined both on the web
interface and in the .net api.

Thanks,

Jean

What error are you seeing? An error thrown by AuthToken class means there is

API Access Slot Not Sufficient For 3rd Tools Development

2011-03-15 Thread Benny Chan
Hi there,

I run a digital agency.
I want to use Kenshoo that is a bid management tool.
This takes up the API access spot or slot.

I also (in addition) want to create and use another tool at the same
time that also requires an API access to my accounts.

Please would you tell me where I can find a google policy or area that
for certain tells me for sure:

a) How many Google Adwords API accesses I can have active per account
at the one time?

b) Is there a way to add more than one? Even if the 2nd on is only
read-only?

Any help would be really appreciated on how to do this, as we were
wanting to develop something with the Google Adwords API, but don't
see the point if we can only have one access.

We are finding that many digital marketing agencies already have their
single API only access taken by one tool, so when they come to use
ours, there' no space and it is creating a monopoly.

Will Google increase the API only access slots to be two (rather than
one) so that it opens up the market and makes it fairer for us to
play?

Typically no one tool has ALL the features that is required, but the
account holder in the end misses out, because they are presently
forced to pick the one that has the most features they desperately
need.

It would be very helpful if Google faciliatated opening up the market
for more service providers and tools by allowing two API Only Access
slots.

Thank you.

Benny

Re: Adwords Reporting

2011-03-15 Thread AdWords API Advisor
Hi Peter,

As of now, cross client reports aren't available, see
http://adwordsapi.blogspot.com/2011/03/update-to-reporting-service-in-adwords.html
 for
details. Once this feature is available for everyone, you should be able to
run reports against multiple accounts.

Another thing worth noting is that if you don't specify any predicates, then
the report will run for an entire account. So you can just schedule a single
adgroup performance report with no predicates and request adgroupid as a
column. This saves you the trouble of running GetAllCampaigns and later
GetAllAdGroups.

As for retrieving accounts under an MCC, see
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-php/source/browse/trunk/examples/v201008/GetAccountHierarchy.php
.

Stats fields startDate and endDate obsolete in v201101?

2011-03-15 Thread Wilrik Mook
Good day,

I am in the process of migrating to v201101 and I noticed the
startDate and endDate fields are not returned anymore when requesting
CampaignStats (probably in other services too). I do not see any way
to select these either. Have they become obsolete with the new generic
Selector, which specifies dateRange? It's not a real problem I
suppose, but is there a reason they were kept in the API?

Re: Stats fields startDate and endDate obsolete in v201101?

2011-03-15 Thread rayden
they are returned if you select that field. Here is an example:

$fields = array(
  'Id', 'Name', 'StartDate', 'EndDate',
  'ServingStatus', 'Settings', 'Status',
  'Period', 'Amount', 'DeliveryMethod', //budget
  'TargetGoogleSearch', 'TargetSearchNetwork',
  'TargetContentNetwork', 'TargetContentContextual',
  'TargetPartnerSearchNetwork', // network settings
  'Clicks', 'Impressions', 'AverageCpc', 'Cost',
  'AveragePosition', 'Ctr', // statistics
  );

// Create selector.
$selector = new Selector();
$selector-fields = $fields;

Its a little confusing to go to the new API, maybe migrating section
should include
some examples like this one, but when you figure it out, than you see
new system
is way better than old one.

Best regards,

v201101 Cross Client Report - startDate / endDate

2011-03-15 Thread BeUp NL
We are aware that the Cross Client Report definition is not working as it
should for the moment.

However I was trying to create a Cross Client Report (PHP client library)
and it seems to be working for a limited number of fields. I get the
following error when I try to ad a 'startDate' or 'StartDate' field:
INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT @ StartDate

Is this due to the Cross Client Reports not working or is this an obsolete
field? I tried several fields for the CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT without
any luck: startDate, endDate, loginEmail, servingStatus, ...

Any help is welcome.

Thnx

Re: Download report without saving

2011-03-15 Thread robert.johans...@adwire.se
I think I've tried everything now. I have downloaded the new client
library (2.5.0), but it didn't help. If I specify a path, the report
is saved to disc. But when I replace $path with NULL, I get nothing. I
have tried to print the response, but the result is empty. If I modify
the reportUtils file and try to output $downloadSize and $result, I
can only see a value in the $downloadSize variable. The code looks
like this:

error_reporting(E_STRICT | E_ALL);

$path = dirname(__FILE__) . '/src';
set_include_path(get_include_path() . PATH_SEPARATOR . $path);

require_once 'Google/Api/Ads/AdWords/Lib/AdWordsUser.php';
require_once 'Google/Api/Ads/AdWords/Util/ReportUtils.php';

try {
$clientId = 'XX';
$user = new AdWordsUser(NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL,
$clientId);

  $reportDefinitionId = (float) 'X';

  print ReportUtils::DownloadReport($reportDefinitionId, null, $user);
} catch (Exception $e) {
  print $e-getMessage();
}

 There was one change to the report download functionality since 2.4.1, but

create Keyword object with Ruby client and API v201008

2011-03-15 Thread kath
I am creating a Keyword object with the Ruby client and API v201008
using the following code:

traffic_estimator_service.module::Keyword.new('mars cruise', 'BROAD')

On inspection, the object has:
id= 'mars cruise'
Criterion.Type = BROAD
text = nil
matchType = nil

This looks like a bug in the Ruby client, as it should be
text = 'mars cruise'
matchType = BROAD

Has anyone successfully got a list of keyword estimates from the
traffic estimator service using Ruby?

pentaho integration

2011-03-15 Thread discovlad
Folks,
Has anybody tried integrating Pentaho with adwords. If so, what
approach are you using? That is, have you written a kettle plugin
that calls goodle's adword api, or are you using wsdl integration or
are you simply downloading zip files by hand and importing them into
pentaho? I would very much like to hear what has is being tried and
works.

DownloadReport API Cost

2011-03-15 Thread Nesha
Hi,

I can't find how much will cost me to download keywords reports for
yesterday.

I've found this:

ReportDefinitionService
get 1 per ReportDefinition
getReportFields 1 per ReportDefinitionField
mutate (ADD)400 per ReportDefinition
mutate (REMOVE) 1 per ReportDefinition
mutate (SET)400 per ReportDefinition

but I am not sure, is that cost for whole report, or just one line.
I plan to use csv format, and my reports can have a thousands of rows,
how will this be affected by cost?

Can someone explain this to me.
Thanks

Hi Robert,

How big is the report when you save it to disk? If it's too large it could
be that you are running out of memory, which is why the saving to disk
option is desirable in some cases.

Re: How to request all conversion types using v201101 API

2011-03-15 Thread Eric Koleda
Hi TJ,

To address your questions:

1) Yes, you would need to pull one report with conversion fields and one
with non-conversion fields.

2) If you include both the ConversionCategoryName field and the Date field
in the report then you'll get a separate row for each Day/Category
combination.

3) No error will be thrown, you'll just get no results back in your report.

Re: API Access Slot Not Sufficient For 3rd Tools Development

2011-03-15 Thread Benny Chan
Hi Anash,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I think you misunderstood my point.

We have a principle Adwords Account with Developer API token. Our software
will use this API Token + username/password to gain access to the client
accounts linked to us through *API Access only* slot.

We also have many agency clients, who are MCC themselves. For each account
they manage, *API and UI access *slot will be taken.

At the same time, these accounts are using 3rd party bid management tool,
which take away *API access only *slot.

So, I was asking, since our potential clients have already used up both the
Access slots, how do we gain API access to these client accounts?

From my understanding, your suggestion is that we create a new email
address, e.g: *second_em...@domain.com. *And then the client (Customer ID:
123-456-7890) invites *second_em...@domain.com* to be administrator / normal
user in their account.

However, *second_em...@domain.com *still does not have any linkage to Our
Principle account, and it does not have any API Token, hence we still cannot
access the client accounts via API.

Please correct me if I interpret your solution wrongly, and hopefully then
you can provide me a more detailed steps to solve our problem.

Thank you.

Re: DownloadReport API Cost

2011-03-15 Thread Rob Ryan
Currently it is 400 to make a report definition, which you get an id
returned to you, calling this id gives no additional cost, so if you set up
a report with a non static timescale it's essentially free ongoing.
