Re: InfoService v201109 error

2011-11-23 Thread MT
Thanks, but that doesn't solve the issue. Could you please post an XML
example of a successful request? I think there may be some issue with
the namespaces.

On Nov 22, 6:51 pm, Eric Koleda eric.kol...@google.com wrote:
 Hi,

 In v201109 we enabled XML validation for all of our SOAP requests in
 production (it was already enabled in the sandbox).  The XML schema
 included in the WSDL uses a sequence element to wrap these fields, which
 requires that the order of the fields in the request must match the order
 defined in the schema.  Conveniently the docs also list the fields in the
 same order, and in this case the clientEmails field must appear below the
 dateRange field:

Developer API Token Signup Fail

2011-11-23 Thread Erling Wegger Linde
Hi,

I am trying to sign up for an adwords api token, but somehow it seems

In my My Account tab I have no such thing as a link to AdWords API

Furthermore, by visiting either of the links below

https://adwords.google.com/select/ApiCenter

I get redirected to https://adwords.google.com/select/AccessDenied or
https://adwords.google.com/support/aw/adwordsapi/bin/answer.py?hl=enanswer=15104
which is not very helpful at all. I am also being told to contact the

I wonder if this could be because I am located outside the US? It is
incredibly frustrating at the moment though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you need to call SET on AdParamService

2011-11-23 Thread asim.liaq...@stickyeyes.com
Hi,

When an ad is created with an ad parameter using the web interface i
get an empty response when i call GET on AdParamService API. If i set
a value using SET and then call GET, i get results back.

Is this necessary? or is something missing when creating the ad in the
web interface?

Also is there an easier way to set an ad param than creating a
separate operation for every keyword in the adgroup?

Hello MT,

I just checked the 'get_client_customer_id.rb' example and it works
perfectly for me. The XML code you are provided does not look like
library-generated code though. Are you using our client libraries or
generate the XML yourself?

The problem with your code is that the XML items need to me in a specific

updating from Cross Client Report Download (ReportUtils::RunAsyncReport) to ReportUtils::DownloadReport

2011-11-23 Thread iateadonut
The following code generates a report for me:

  $user = new AdWordsUser();
  $user-LogDefaults();

  $reportDefinitionId = (float) '131128463';

  $result = ReportUtils::RunAsyncReport($reportDefinitionId,
$queryToken, $user, $options);

This is the old CrossClient type of download.

This code, however:
  $user = new AdWordsUser();
  $user-LogDefaults();

  $reportDefinitionId = '131128463';

  ReportUtils::DownloadReport($reportDefinitionId, $path, $user,
$options);

produces:
  The client customer ID must be specified for report downloads.

Fair enough, change the above to:

  $user = new AdWordsUser();
  $user-LogDefaults();
$user-SetClientId('3924112376');

  $reportDefinitionId = '131128463';

  ReportUtils::DownloadReport($reportDefinitionId, $path, $user,
$options);

produces:
[ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_REPORT_DEFINITION_ID @
selector.selector; errorDetails:reportDefinitionId=ReportDefinitionId:
131128463, customerId=27968988, changeId=0]

which seems very strange to me - the customerId (27968988) not only
doesn't match $user-SetClientId, but it is also only 8 digits, when I
think clientId's are supposed to be at least 9 digits long.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong here (and also, when you do
set the clientId, how to set it for all of your subaccounts).

Re: Determine account creation date?

2011-11-23 Thread Eric Koleda
Hi Jason,

As discussed in the office hours last week, it doesn't appear that this
information is accessible any longer. Regular calls to the
ServicedAccountService could be used to approximate when the accounts was
created / linked.

Re: Deleting Reports v201109

2011-11-23 Thread Eric Koleda
Hi Ian,

You would have to use the v201101 ReportDefinitionService to delete these,
since as you said the mutate() method was removed in v201109. That said,
there is no harm in keeping around these old definitions if you don't plan
on using them.

The AdGroupAdService can be used to retrieve the details of a TextAd,

Re: API version stability, change management, and testing ad-hoc changes

2011-11-23 Thread Eric Koleda
Hi All,

Speaking more broadly, we understand your concerns and whenever possible
try to introduce breaking changes at version boundaries only. This gives
you the time to change and test your application against the new behavior
in an opt-in way. In this case there were reasons that the change needed
to be applied outside of a release. Given the scale of the change we think
the impact should minimal, but we'll work harder in the future to prevent
this situation.

Re: API for Call Metrics

2011-11-23 Thread Eric Koleda
Hi Mark,

Ask and you shall receive! I've been following up with Reed offline
regarding call-metric data in the API. There are three different types:

1) Campaign-level click-to-call stats: Segment by Click type in the UI
or create a predicate for ClickType EQUALS CALLS in the API. This is
working properly.

2) Campaign-level stats on calls that did not originate from clicks:
Add the field Phone calls in the UI or the field NumCalls in the API. There
is currently an issue where the API and UI stats are not matching.

3) Per-call stats: Dimensions - Call details in the UI. This
report doesn't exist in the API..

Re: Dynamic sitelinks array

2011-11-23 Thread Eric Koleda
Hi Paigey,

These programming questions are a bit outside the scope of this forum, as
we tend to focus on API-specific issues. In your loop you can add the
Sitelink objects to an ArrayList, and then convert that to a Sitelink[]
before passing it to the API.

due diligence on the use of multiple adwords accounts

2011-11-23 Thread Bob Sakayama

We conduct due diligence on behalf of investors seeking information on
web businesses being considered for acquisition. Recently it was
brought to my attention that some sellers hide multiple adwords
accounts from prospective buyers in order to ramp sales (and hide the
expense) prior to the offering. They do this by creating adwords
accounts that are paid for with funds not traceable by looking at the
business records - perhaps using a personal credit card, etc.

Is there any way to detect all the adwords accounts used to promote
sales on a specific domain?

If not, are there any suggestions that could give us insight into
these kinds of practices?

Thank you for your time.
