Re: Video campaigns statistics

2012-06-25 Thread Dorian Kind
Many thanks for your comprehensive answer, Kevin! Just so that I understand
this completely: There is currently no functionality in the API to get
total performance statistics for a single account where values from video
campaigns are included?

Thanks again and best regards,
Dorian

On Friday, June 22, 2012 5:57:10 PM UTC+2, Kevin Winter wrote:

 Hi Dorian,
This is a side-effect of how aggregation works in AdWords. In the MCC
view, you are looking at a list of all accounts. At this level, it's not
known whether these statistics include video campaigns or regular campaigns
(since we're looking at the account as a whole). The same thing applies
for an AdGroupPerformance report - you may be looking at
clicks/impressions/etc that are associated with DynamicSearchAds (which are
not currently exposed via the API), but because you're looking at a higher
level of aggregation their statistics are included. It is only when one
looks at statistics at the level of an entity (where said entity is not
normally available) that it becomes possible to filter these statistics.

I know this is a pain point for many developers. We're always working
with the engineering teams to expose more objects in the API, but it's not
always feasible or desirable to expose certain features (in the case that
it is experimental or may change abruptly - stability of the API is
 important).

 Hi all,

If I may revive this thread: Interestingly, the video campaign statistics
*are* available in the web interface on an MCC level. Meaning that if you
look at the MCC which a specific account is linked to, you'll get a total
line for that account which includes the impressions, clicks and cost from
video campaigns. However, as soon as you drill into that account, the video
statistics disappear from the total line.
Unfortunately this is a bit confusing for some of our customers who like
to take a look at their account from time to time. They see a total line
with cost X in the totals for their account, but then notice that they got
 billed Y X by Google.
Are there any plans to remove this discrepancy?

 Thanks and best regards,
 Dorian

SimpleMutateJobs not getting

2012-06-25 Thread Jan
Hi,

we are using the MutateJobService with SimpleMutateJobs to change settings
of AdGroups. Since Saturday (23.06.2012), these jobs take unreasonable long
to get processed, some even seem to be stuck indefinitely. Our application
ran stable for 3 Weeks with using SimpleMutateJobs, we did millions of
changes to AdGroups wit reasonable speed, but now it ceased to work.
Where there any changes to this service or unplanned downtimes? I couldn't
find any information.

Best regards,

Jan

 Hi,

I believe the only way to get some data about the 'Change History' is by
 using the CustomerSyncService object.

Looking at this object I have 2 questions:

 1) There doesn't seem to be a timestamp given for when the change took
place. This is unlike the adwords interface that tells you when and how
 performed the change. Correct?

 2) It doesn't tell you the nature of the change e.g. if the 'Target CPA'
of an adgroup changed, all the API can tell me is that there was a change
to the adgroup (but it can't tell me what the change is). Again, this is
 different from the interface. Correct?

 Many thanks.

we are using the MutateJobService with SimpleMutateJobs to change
settings (status, bids etc.) of AdGroups. Since Saturday (22.06.2012)
 these
jobs aren't working properly anymore. They seem to be stuck indefinitely.
Were there any changes to these jobs (we are using v201109) or
unplanned service problems/outage? I hope you can give me any feedback, as
our application was running with this code for 3 weeks, but now it ceased
 to work.
Hope you can give me any feedback / advice.

 Best regards,

 Jan

Re: SimpleMutateJobs not getting processed

2012-06-25 Thread Kevin Winter
Hi Dickens,
We're hoping that pending jobs should be processed within the next few
hours. I submitted a few test jobs earlier this morning that have since
been processed. Anything that is currently pending should be processed -
with the possible caveat that if the job was identified as stuck or
otherwise causing a problem, it may have been canceled (but can be
resubmitted). This should only apply to a very few jobs (if any).

 Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your response. Do you have an idea how quickly the queue will
be cleared for today? Can you confirm that jobs in the queue will be
properly processed (with the appropriate exceptions)?

 Hi all,
The number of pending jobs temporarily exceeded our normally scheduled

and expect processing times to drop back to normal in the near future. We
 apologize for the inconvenience.

 Hi,

Didn't notice this until today, but i am seeing the same behavior, as
described above, as well. Any hint of what is going on would be greatly
 appreciated.

Dynamic Campaign Reporting with Php Client Library

2012-06-25 Thread Ashley Bennett
Can anyone give me a run down on how to creatively use the constructor to
dynamically (with or without threading) pull campaign stats for one MCC
with a LOT of sub accounts within it?

I can't seem to find much in the way of advice for this.

Example Account Structure for our MCC:

XX, MAIN MCC ACCOUNT
--XX, Sub Account
--XX, Sub Account
--XX, Sub Account
--XX, Sub Account
--XX, Sub Account
--XX, Sub Account
--XX, Sub Account
XX, Tertiary Sub Account

I need to be able to iterate dynamically through our entire list of
accounts (quite large) and perform a campaign stats report for each one,
then use the returned data and store it into our own CIM.

Specifically where I am the most confused has to do with how to blend the
example files together. The campaign stats example file is great, but it
takes a hard coded clientCustomerID from the auth.ini file in order to run
that report with the live service. I can run the account hierarchy example
file, and get all of our account id's, and the client customer ID's of each
sub and tertiary account, but I don't see a way to use the adwords user
constructor in combination with these two example files in order to pull
the right data.

The php client library has lots of example files, but not much in the way
of 'how-to' guides explaining how to dynamically run reports without the
use of the auth.ini file, or how I can perform dynamic reporting with
threading.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

2012-06-25 Thread adwords account
Still no reply? Other posts get a reply, but not posts regarding API
approval. Why is that?

Thank you,

When we first signed up the online docs said a couple of weeks. It has
been months without a single reply. I have tried contacting you in every
way that I can think of. Obviously if I do not get a reply soon we will
loose everything that we have been working so hard for.

Please reply and let me know what the status is on our API approval is.

Re: Adwords API Team - Please reply to any of my emails or forum posts or my acount email.

2012-06-25 Thread Ewan Heming
How long have you actually been waiting for a response? Token applications
are taking a very long time to process at the moment, and I think that the
ones being escalated have been waiting excessively long. While you're
waiting you could try looking at the AdWords API
Termshttps://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/terms;
like most legal documents, it's quite hard going, but if you read it
carefully then you should be able to work out if your software does
anything that would lead to your application being rejected.

In addition--although I don't work for Google, so this is just my
guess--you might want to think about other things your company is doing
that might break the terms of other Google products, as that could
prejudice your API application. Also--and this is another speculation--the
AdWords API is for building paid search tools, so if you want to use it for
something else, like say an SEO keyword tool, then you could also have a
problem.
