RE: Setting or Retrieving Campaign Goal through Adwords API

2019-01-28 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Vijaysinh,

Could you elaborate on what do you mean by "you want to create a Display
Campaign using Conversion Goals"? This seems not possible in the AdWords
API as the AdWords API does not support managing conversion goals. Also,
you mentioned that you retrieved those conversion goals using the
ConversionTrackerService
.
If

you could provide the logs showing the conversion goal, please send to me
via *reply privately to author* so I could further check.

Also, you might want to check this guide

for

more information about Tracking and Importing Conversions using the AdWords
API.

RE: AdGroup Negative Placements Performance Report??

2019-01-28 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello Han Vo,

This was sent over to me because I've worked quite a bit with reports.
Please take a look in the UI at the *Placements WHERE ADS SHOWED *report.
You will see that there is no column for ad. This is why you do not see the
ad in the API report. Do you see the channel ID in the UI report? Perhaps I
missed it. If it is not in the UI, then it will not be in that report
either. Unfortunately, I do not believe there is a way to connect all that
data together across reports.

RE: Valuetrack Parameter Connected TV

2019-01-28 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Uwe,

Based on the API blog post
,
it appears that all reporting for this goes to desktop platform value. That
was mentioned in the last paragraph of the blog post. This leads me to
believe that value track is probably using the same reporting with the
value being 'c' for computer. Unfortunately, I only know what the API is
reporting on this one and not what the value track parameter will be. It's
only an educated guess. I would recommend posting the question on the Google
Ads forum
 since
this is more general product-related. They probably have a better idea of
what is up and coming on this.

RE: Is there any limit to search keywords or search results for google keyword planner API?

2019-01-28 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello Rahul,

You could use the TargetingIdeaService

of the API to achieve similar results that you see in the Keyword Planner
web interface. There is a limit
on the number of keyword results you could fetch in a single call, where
the selector must specify a paging value, with numberResults set to 700 or
less. You could use this sample program

in Java to fetch the keyword ideas. Code samples in other languages can be
found here .
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

RE: "cannot_modify_Ad" Error Updating Final URLs for Ads

Hi Pat,

Those are two different ways of updating the sitelinks. If you are using
the extension setting services

at various levels (Customer/AdGroup/Campaign) to create the extensions, I
would recommend using the same to modify the final urls. The code snippet

I had shared in my previous response should be useful if you decide to go
with that. To prevent the new settings from overwriting the old settings,
remember to send back all feed items, even if you're modifying just one
item.

From the description, it looks like it would be ideal to use your tool

RE: Can't connect to API / python3

2019-01-28 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello,

The issue seems to be due to un-commenting the empty quotes ("") followed
by colon (:) in the googleads.yaml
.
To enable logging, you could also add the two lines given here

in your program. If you are still facing issues in enabling the SOAP logs,
could you share your code? I can confirm that the CID shared is a client
customer id of a test client account.

You could use reply privately to author while sharing the details.

Thanks,

Yes, I have consulted these guides many times. But the thing is that a
least two essential files, namely Google.Adwords.dll and Google.Ads.dll,
are simply missing in the download-package
(*adwords_dotnet_lib_v24.3.0.zip*).

I mean, in the /lib folder.
I downloaded it from here:

Any ideas?

I struggling with migrating to v201809.

I'd prefer the binary distribution of the library so I downloaded the files
of v24.3.0 from

My intention is to just update the files in my application's (ASP.NET) /bin
folder, and get it up and running again.

Now, what makes me confused is that there is no *Google.AdWords.dll*, and
*Google.Ads.Common.dll* files included in the /lib folder.
Shall I just keep the old versions of AdWords.dll and Common.dll or, ... ?

What exactly are the files that I need to replace in the bin folder?

My current version is v201802.

Many thanks!

Re: Programatically see what level of access an account manager is given

2019-01-28 Thread Zweitze
I am not aware of a direct call in AdWords API, although the new Ads API
(currently in beta) may have some.

I do know a workaround. Identify API calls that fail when the user has no
sufficient access rights.
Then call that exact API call with header flag "validateOnly" set to true.
When that flag is set, the API will report errors, but if no errors occur,
the API will NOT execute the call.
The idea is that you check whether the error occurs. However, be aware of
different errors.

For instance: You could try creating a campaign with validateOnly. When
that succeeds with validateOnly set, you know that the user has more than
read-only access. But, when it fails, you should be aware of different
errors as well, for instance you didn't supply a campaign name, or its name
was too long, or a campaign with the same name exists, etc. In other words,
on failure you've got to examine the error.

A special warning about disabled accounts (not campaigns or groups, but
accounts): when an account is disabled, all API calls fail. Reasons for
Google to disable an account include (for instance) lacking payments,
repeatedly violating T, etc. But, when you think about it, that's a
special type of access, so it does make sense.

Hi
Thanks for that, that must've happened when i reduced the number of
columns. I did that but still no good, Reports are still failing with code
400, I am using Parallel report download example.

Hi Jatin,

Thank you for providing your report definition. I noticed an error in your

'Clicks,' -> 'Clicks',

You can place the comma ( , ) after the end quotation mark ( ' ). Let me
know if this helps.

Hi Peter

Thank you for looking into the matter, I was using Parallel Report Download
for all other reports, I did same for Geo Performance report when using
API. I reduced number of fields, still response if 400. I tried Web UI and
I was able to download report by reducing number of columns. New report
definition is
report_definition = {
  'reportName': 'Custom GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT',
  'dateRangeType': 'YESTERDAY',
  'reportType': 'GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT',
  'downloadFormat': 'CSV',
  'selector': {
  'fields': ['AccountDescriptiveName,'
'CampaignName',
'RegionCriteriaId',
'CityCriteriaId',
'Clicks,'
'Conversions,'
'Cost',
'Ctr',
'Impressions']
}
  }

Can I change time out to see if, helps?

Hi Jatin,

Allow me to provide support as Luis is currently OOO. Regarding your issue
with not being able to generate the Geo Performance Report,
the 788-458-2821 account ID you provided belongs to a MCC account. This MCC
account ID cannot be used as your clientCustomerId to download an AdWords
API report as reports can only be downloaded per client account
.
Unless you are using the Parallel Report Download

example,

only then can you specify a MCC account ID as the clientCustomerId.

That being said, could you retry your request and use a client account ID
instead? I also noticed that you are retrieving all the fields of the Geo
Performance Report. Doing so might result to a timeout

due

to the volume of information you are using. You may need to reduce the
number of fields or break down your report using predicates to avoid the
said timeouts.

Should the issue persist, you may send to me privately your
clientCustomerId (account ID of the client account) and your updated report
definition

so

I can further investigate.

Thanks and regards,
Peter
