data_type, is_repeated
  WHERE name = user_interest

To sanity-check yourself, you can check out this page

If you were trying something else, please get back to me.

Hello Zweitze,

This is a tough one to figure out without going straight to the engineer

I do think only Google can answer my question. Unfortunately, nobody from
Google felt obliged to answer.

Do you see any other way to retrieve this answer?
Or find a way to ask this to the product team yourself?

Our use case:
Previously AvgPos is (partly) used for qualifications of campaigns and
accounts, based on experience and -more important- years of data, in some
cases dating all the way back to 2002 (!). Anyway, we have to migrate to
the new metrics. Now we have little experience, and need as much data as
available. But it may be a bit to much for our server (and Googles servers)
to obtain all data since -say- 2014 again.

So we need a statement on the oldest date. Like
*"These metrics first became available for then-whitelisted accounts in
Liechtenstein, and you can find no older date than July 1st 2017."*

Thanks for understanding!

But our goal is long term analysis.

How far in the past do these metrics go?
I know we can take an old account (say before 2005) and start reading the
metris, and determine when reasonable data appears.
But... quite often new features are rolled out on different dates, for
instance by country, or first for large accounts.

So my question is, what is the oldest date we can get reliable prominence
metrics?
For instance, 1-1-2019? Earlier?

Thanks!

How to GetUserList using Googld ads api ?

2019-03-19 Thread IntegrationDeveloper
Hi

public long LookAudienceIdUsingName(string name)
{
  AdwordsUserListService userListService =
(AdwordsUserListService)_user.GetService(
  AdWordsService.v201809.AdwordsUserListService);

  string query = $"SELECT Id, Name, Status, AccountUserListStatus Where
Name = '{name}' ORDER BY Id Desc";
  int offset = 0;
  int pageSize = 1;
  UserListPage page = new UserListPage();

  string queryWithPaging = $"{query} LIMIT {offset}, {pageSize}";
  page = userListService.query(queryWithPaging);

  foreach (UserList userList in page.entries)
return page.entries[0].id;

  return 0;
}

The above is my C# code to get an audience Id calling AdWords API - this
works fine no problem.

I'm now migrating our integration to Google Ads API. Can you please provide
a sample code that do the same as the above ? I couldn't find one.

Thanks.
Sarah

How can I solve this, or get some more info about the problem?

Problem with QuotaCheckError.ACCOUNT_INACTIVE

2019-03-19 Thread Štefan Ondáš
Hello friends,

yesterday I made basic access to API, got developer token and got OAuth2
(clientId, clientSecret and refreshToken).
I am newbie in AdWords API issues.
So in my manager account I created new campaign for testing.
I cloned this project: https://github.com/googleads/googleads-php-lib,
installed composer dependencies and edited config file "ads_api.ini" with
my information.. and tried to do request via Laravel example app.
Everytime when I try to do request with some of testing or real customer
ID, I get this request: [QuotaCheckError.ACCOUNT_INACTIVE @ ;
trigger:'']
I don't understand why is an account inactive. Real accounts which I tried
are 100% active and their spent money every day.
Could you help me please?

Thanks a lot.

Hello Wei,

It might be due to the temporary glitches in the Google Ads servers or the
size of the report you are pulling. When you are facing such errors, please
wait for some time and make the API calls again. If you are seeing the
error continuously, please share the complete logs of the error to
investigate further. Also, share the timestamp around which you see these
errors and your search query. You could refer this guide

to enable logging. You could use reply privately to the author option while

RE: Regarding authentication error

2019-03-19 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello,

Thank you for the logs. Please avoid posting confidential information on
the group, particularly developer tokens. When attaching logs, make sure to
remove this data going forward. I have editted these details in the public
forum. You can still provide object IDs such as campaign ID, ad group ID
etc. to help us investigate the issue. If you suspect that your developer
token is compromised, please follow the steps shown in this guide
 to
reset the developer token. The USER_PERMISSION_DENIED

error

occurs when the account is not linked to an MCC that can directly manage
accounts. Another possible reason is that the OAuth2 credentials used has
no access to the specific client account.

Is there any specific reason you're using service accounts? We strongly
recommend using installed app or web flows

instead

of service accounts unless you need domain-specific features (for example,
impersonation). OAuth2 installed application and web flows require user
interaction only once, when access to the account is granted. Could you
please share the email address used for authentication along with the
client account CID from which the API calls are made, so I can check this
further? You can reply back via Reply privately to author option. Please
note that I removed the emails and you can follow the conversation on the
forum thread. If you would like me to convert this to a private thread
please confirm.

Error when trying to retrieve bid modifiers on campaign level

2019-03-19 Thread mspierenburg via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

I'm trying to get the campaign bid modifiers via the python library and the
GoogleAdsService (v1) like the following:
q = ('SELECT campaign_bid_modifier.bid_modifier '
 'FROM campaign_bid_modifier '
 'WHERE campaign.id = %s' % campaign_id)
result = ga_service.search(customer_id, query=q)

But I get the following error:
[2019-03-19 12:53:39,426 - INFO] Request made: ClientCustomerId: xxx, Host:
googleads.googleapis.com:443, Method:
/google.ads.googleads.v1.services.GoogleAdsService/Search, RequestId: xxx,
IsFault: False, FaultMessage: None

A similar request to retrieve the bid modifiers on ad group level works
without a problem.
What is wrong here?

RE: How to solve DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error ?

2019-03-19 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hello,

Firstly, you shouldn't generally even have access to more than one
developer token. I'm not sure how you have multiple but you should probably
consolidate down into a single one.

Secondly, updating to a new GCP project shouldn't require you to do any
re-linking. The Google Ads accounts will still be linked to each other in
the same hierarchy irrespective of which cloud project you're
authenticating as. As long as you generate the new refresh token from an
authorized user at the top-level manager account, you should be good to go.

The solution here is to generate a new project and continue from there.

Mike, Google Ads API Team

I cannot ask him to relink those account again. I can take precaution not

There must be way to eliminate this issue.

Hi Chirag,

If you are facing the same issue, then you could do the same steps to
resolved this. You could create a new Google Cloud Project ID, obtain a new
OAuth2 credentials from a client under that new project ID, and use those
credentials in your requests with your standard developer token.

Hi Rod,

Upon further investigation, I found out that for a given Google Cloud

The DEVELOPER_TOKEN_PROHIBITED error indicates that in the past, there was

the same project ID but different developer token.

The best way to resolve this issue is to create a new Google Cloud Project

Re: Average Position availability in API post deprecation in 2H 2019

2019-03-19 Thread Zweitze
Sai,

I did *post my question
*

in that forum, and got an anwer from a Gold Product Expert, claiming he
does not know how Google implented this.He suspects Google is still
executing this conversion.

RE: AuthenticationError.NOT_ADS_USER.

2019-03-19 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi,

The error NOT_ADS_USER

is

encountered when the login information provided corresponds to a Google
account that does not have AdWords API enabled. Make sure to log in with a
valid Google Ads account (typically your manager account) for the OAuth
flow.

This can be resolved if you used an email address that is associated to
your Google Ads account to generate your OAuth2 Credentials as stated in
this guide
. If
you have already done this and the error is still encountered, could you
provide the complete SOAP request and response logs that were generated
when you encountered the error as well as the email address you used to
generate your OAuth2 credentials? You may use the *reply privately to
author* option.

RE: The caller does not have permission

2019-03-19 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi All,

You could use the Google Ads API v1 in test accounts as well. However, you
are simply required to re-accept the new terms and condition that was
stated on this blog

to

avoid the AuthorizationError.MISSING_TOS error. Simply follow the steps
provided below on how to do this.

   1. Sign into the API Center of the manager account where you have your
   developer token at ads.google.com/aw/apicenter.
   2. Scroll down to API contact email, and update it.
   3. Scroll down to Principal place of business, accept the new
   conditions, and click *Save*.

RE: Targeting In Google Ads Api

2019-03-19 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Martin,

When implementing criteria targeting via Google Ads API, all you need to do
is to specify the criteria resource_name like the example stated here

in

targeting the location. For UserInterestInfo and TopicInfo, you may refer
below for sample request body. Also, you may refer to this link

for

complete sample code (also available in other languages that we support) on
how to add campaign targeting criteria as the implementation of adding the
other criteria is quite the same as this example.

So I'm working on migrating from Adwords API to Ads api and I'm struck at
one point, that is Targeting service. I cannot actually Target an Adgroup
using the Ads API with either Topic or UserInterest as there are no
examples available in the client libraries. I know that we have to create
TopicInfo or UserInterestInfo for targeting. But how do we set the
targeting Id or user interest id to the TopicInfo or UserInterestInfo,
there are no setter methods for that.

val topicInfo =
TopicInfo.newBuilder().setTopicConstant(StringValue.of("958"))

  .build()

val interestInfo: UserInterestInfo = UserInterestInfo
  .newBuilder()
  .setUserInterestCategory(StringValue.of("80412"))
  .build()

Using the above topicInfo and InterestInfo, google Ads API is failing while
mutating with AdgroupCriterionServiceClient. Help me out.
