RE: [0-5880000025905] Data Issue : Receiving unexpected Enum value for AdGroupType from New ads api

2019-04-03 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Darshan,

Thank you for reaching out. Upon checking the screenshot, you are using
adGroup.getStatus() and according to this guide

there

is no UNRECOGNIZED enum value. However to further confirm, could you try
downloading the report first and check if the value returned for
adGroup.getStatus() has indeed a value of UNRECOGNIZED?

RE: Impression metrics in Data Studio?

Hi Kristian,

Our team specializes in AdWords / Google Ads API related concerns only.
That said, my apologies as I cannot further comment on any matters
involving the Google Data Studio as it is already outside of our expertise.

Regarding the fields that you mentioned, you should already be able to
retrieve all of them via the AdWords API's report types that support them.
For the complete list of available fields and which report type they can be
retrieved from, you may refer to this guide

RE: Criterion id to edit hotel groups

2019-04-03 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Rafa,

Kindly refer to my response below.

- Is it possible to mutate an AdGroupCriterion without getting the
criterion_id previously?
The criteria_id is a required field when indicating the resource_name in
the AdGroupCriterion

.
- Is the criterion_id unique? In that case, would be the same criterion_id
for that hotel_id? I would like to know when the the criterion_id for that
customer, ad_group and/or hotel_id could change, in case it changes.
The criterion_id is not individually unique. criterion_id is usually paired
with ad_group_id or campaign_id to make it unique depending on the entity
it is associated to.

Let me know if you have further concerns.

2019-04-03 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Marcel,

You can try using the GoogleAdsService

and

set the query to the one that I provided earlier. You can find a similar
API call here

Hi Anthony

Thanks for getting back. I've tried the CustomerClientService with Python

service = client.get_service('CustomerClientService')
query = ('SELECT customer_client.resource_name,'
'customer_client.client_customer,'
'customer_client.level, customer_client.hidden,'
'customer_client.level'
'FROM customer_client');
response = service.search(root_account_id, query=query, page_size=100)

Where root_account_id is the ID of the root level MCC account. But I get

AttributeError: 'CustomerClientServiceClient' object has no attribute
'search'

Is this the right service? If not, what service should be used?

Hi Marcel,

To get the account hierarchy via Google Ads API, you could use the
customer_client

resource.

Through which you can get only the resource name, level, Boolean value of
hidden status and Client_customer details of the accounts under your
manager account. To get these details the OAuth credentials used to make
the API call should be of manager account and the ClientCustomerId passing
in the header should be of manager account. Below is the sample query for
your reference.

Please note that, you have to iterate through all the customers to get the
descriptive_name.

query = ('SELECT customer_client.resource_name,
customer_client.client_customer,
customer_client.level, customer_client.hidden,
customer_client.level
FROM customer_client');

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi

We're in the process of migrating from AdWords API to the new Google Ads
API. Our Python tool currently loops over all accounts under the MCC root
account and downloads various reports for all accounts on a daily basis.

From what I understand, we also have to place calls for each account again
with the Google Ads API. Therefore, we also need to know all accounts under
the root level MCC account, but I'm already struggling with this.

In the AdWords API we would do something like this: I would use
ManagedCustomerService.get(selector) with an appropriate selector and then
loop over the pages (see also here
)
to get all accounts under the root MCC.

How would I do this with the new Google Ads API? The Python examples
 do not (yet) show how to
do this. Or is there a better way to pull reports over all accounts, which
are not managed accounts?

FYI: Credentials & token are working (we're using the same tokens as before
for AdWords [see here
])
and I can successfully pull the accessible customers
via customer_service.list_accessible_customers().

Criterion id to edit hotel groups

2019-04-03 Thread Rafa Ramírez
Hi! I'm using Google Ads API v1 and I want to set Max. CPC values in a
hotel id (Hotel Groups).

>From the API I'm using AdGroupCriterion and I have the customer_id,
ad_group_id and a list of hotel_id that I can set in a listing_group. But
when I set the resource_name I see that I need a criterion_id and it's
mandatory.

To get the criterion_id I can do a query and it's working fine.

But I have a couple of questions regarding this:
- Is it possible to mutate an AdGroupCriterion without getting the
criterion_id previously?
- Is the criterion_id unique? In that case, would be the same criterion_id
for that hotel_id? I would like to know when the the criterion_id for that
customer, ad_group and/or hotel_id could change, in case it changes.

Thanks!

Adwords' CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT mapping in Google Ads API

2019-04-03 Thread michael . xue
Hi,

We're in the process of migrating from Adwords API to Google Ads API. One
issue we had was mapping the CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT query to its
equivalent in Google Ads query. Here's a sample query we run in AWQL:
SELECT ActiveViewViewability, AverageCpm, AverageCpv, Cost, Impressions,
VideoQuartile25Rate, VideoQuartile50Rate, VideoQuartile75Rate,
VideoQuartile100Rate, VideoViewRate, VideoViews
FROM CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
WHERE CriteriaType='YOUTUBE_CHANNEL' AND AdGroupId=61856865793

This is our best guess at the equivalent query in Google Ads:
SELECT metrics.active_view_viewability, metrics.average_cpm, metrics.
average_cpv, metrics.cost_micros, metrics.impressions, metrics.
video_quartile_25_rate, metrics.video_quartile_50_rate, metrics.
video_quartile_75_rate, metrics.video_quartile_100_rate, metrics.
video_view_rate, metrics.video_views
FROM ad_group_audience_view
WHERE ad_group_criterion.type='YOUTUBE_CHANNEL'
AND ad_group.id=61856865793

However, the original AWQL returns around 3800 rows, but the new GAQL query
returns 0 rows. Can you confirm that this is indeed the correct mapping?
Thanks in advance.

Best,
Michael Xue

Re: Migration to Google Ads API - Get list of all accounts under MCC

2019-04-03 Thread Marcel Zemp
Hi Anthony

Thanks for getting back. I've tried the CustomerClientService with Python

service = client.get_service('CustomerClientService')
query = ('SELECT customer_client.resource_name,'
'customer_client.client_customer,'
'customer_client.level, customer_client.hidden,'
'customer_client.level'
'FROM customer_client');
response = service.search(root_account_id, query=query, page_size=100)

Where root_account_id is the ID of the root level MCC account. But I get

AttributeError: 'CustomerClientServiceClient' object has no attribute
'search'

Is this the right service? If not, what service should be used?

Change Campaigns Target-ROAS

2019-04-03 Thread Michael Ladewig
Hey guys,

I'm trying to change the target-ROAS of a specific campaign with the
following Python snippet:

campaign_service = google_ads_client.get_service('CampaignService',
version='v1')
campaign_operation = google_ads_client.get_type('CampaignOperation',
version='v1')
campaign = campaign_operation.update
campaign.resource_name = campaign_service.campaign_path(cid, '911450346')
campaign.target_roas.target_roas = 4.1
fm = protobuf_helpers.field_mask(None, campaign.target_roas)
campaign_operation.update_mask.CopyFrom(fm)
campaign_response = campaign_service.mutate_campaigns(cid,
[campaign_operation])
print('Updated campaign %s.' % campaign_response.results[0].resource_name)

As result, I get the error:

  campaign.target_roas.target_roas = 4.1
AttributeError: Assignment not allowed to field "target_roas" in protocol
message object.

Can anybody help me, changing the target-ROAS?

Is Shared Set ID globally unique

2019-04-03 Thread PPC Rocket
Hey there,

I was wondering in which scope the ID of a SharedSet

is unique? Is it globally or in account basis?
Unfortunately, the API docs do not say anything about it:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/objects-methods

I've tested it with some accounts so far and it seems that multiple
accounts can use the same SharedSet.
So I would guess that the ID of a SharedSet is globally unique.

Is this correct?

Thank you!
Joachim (PPC Rocket GmbH)

Could you please give me an example of Adding (with creation) of sitelink

You already have an example but using Google Adwords API:

Google Ads API: Turn off canonicalization of keywords for STATS

2019-04-03 Thread Si J
Hi,

Reading the docs for Google Ads api it looks like when requesting
historical search volumes for keywords the service will produce a
canonicalized result set, is there a way to avoid doing this? Asking as
canonical keyword variants have different search volumes, alternatively can
there be a canonical reference returned to link instances of canonical
keywords?

Release notes for reference:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/release-notes, looking
under Keyword Planning.

Thanks,
Si

RE: [5-4985000025990] Use Ads api and Adwords api to get campaigns return different response

2019-04-03 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. The
AuthorizationError.USER_PERMISSION_DENIED

occurs

when there is no link between the manager account and the client account.
Could you confirm if you have set the login-customer-id

in

your requests header to match the manager you're logging in as? If this
header is not set, you may begin seeing the error: USER_PERMISSION_DENIED.
You may refer to this blog

post

for more information about the new required header for Google Ads API
requests. Should you have any further concerns, feel free to write back and
we'll be happy to assist you.

About ImpressionShare Values

2019-04-03 Thread 井上剛志
Hi,

The values returned for the following fields of Campaign Performance Report
are different from the official document.

- AbsoluteTopImpressionPercentage
- SearchRankLostAbsoluteTopImpressionShare
- SearchRankLostTopImpressionShare
- SearchTopImpressionShare
- TopImpressionPercentage

For official documents (
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/campaign-performance-report#absolutetopimpressionpercentage

),

A percentage returned as "xx.xx%", or the special value "<10%".

Although it is stated that, a Double value such as 0.42 is actually
returned.

Is it a correct to be returned as a Double value?

Best regards,
Tsuyoshi Inoue

RE: Can TargetingIdeaService return search volume grouped by location?

2019-04-03 Thread googleadsapi-forumadvisor via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum

Hi Sebby,

Unfortunately, the response of the *TargetingIdeaService* cannot be broken
down into states, DMAs, counties, cities and others just like in the UI
where you can easily see the top 10 US cities or US counties or whatever
location which have the highest search volume for particular keywords.
Kindly refer to this link

to see sample response for this service.

If you want to get the forecast for specific keywords based on the
location, you may use the location criterion in CampaignEstimateRequest
.criteria

and

set the corresponding ID of the location (corresponding IDs of specific
locations can be seen in downloadable file provided in this link
).
However, the response of this service cannot be also broken down into
states, DMAs, counties, cities and etc.

With regards to your last question about the *TargetingIdeaService*, you
would need to create different API call for each of the location criteria
to determine which location has the highest search volume.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Ejay

Hi there!

For some context, my purpose is to find the highest impressions in the US
for a specified keyword. Let's say "candy". So I want to find the top 10 US
cities or US counties or whatever that have the highest search volume for
"candy".

In the keyword planning tool I have the capability to set the overall
location of interest (United States) and look at the Locations tab, split
by location type (states, DMAs, counties, cities, etc.) and order by
Impressions to find the top 10. This way, I can easily find the top
counties/cities etc. that search for the target keyword

I've been trying to use the TargetingIdeaService to get similar results but
I'm having trouble with reproducing the Keyword Planner capabilities.
Looking at this documentation

it

seems that anything geolocation-related can't be returned as part of the
requestedAttributeTypes.

I also noticed that the Locations tab actually shows Location Forecasts, so
should I be hitting a different API? Like the TrafficEstimator? But that
didn't seem to offer the capability either.

Ultimately, I want the keywords and search volume provided by
TargetingIdeaService with the capability to get top N cities or counties
within a country of interest. Is that something easily done? Or will I have
to loop through each location criteria id of interest (e.g. all counties in
the US) and hit the TargetingIdeaService every time?

Thank you!
