Distinction between "regular Ad" and "Ad suggestion's Ad"

2019-11-07 Thread Thanh Nguyen
Hi, I'm currently looking into Ad suggestion
,
and how to work with it via the API.
My question:
1. When getting Ad via the API (either AdWords or Ads v2), what field(s)
differentiate "normal Ad from manual input" from "auto-applied Ad
suggestion's Ad".

2. Through research the Ad in AdWords have field "automated" and Ads v2
have "added_by_goolge_ads", is this what I'm looking for?
 2.1. Both the field only have vague description, and only of type Boolean,
& feel like it can encompass multiple scenario, is it guarantee that it
only for "auto-applied Ad suggestion"

3. In the About ad suggestion

page, at the "Can I edit ad suggestions?", it said "Any edit to an ad
suggestion will remove this tag, and the ad will no longer appear in the
“Auto-applied ad suggestion” column on the ads table.", is there any way to
circumvent this, or way to tell it WAS Google auto-applied (Because we are
3rd parties between Google Ads and Advertiser via the API, we need to give
our customer clear indication that those auto-applied ads aren't from us)

Is it possible to create uac adgroup with adwords api?

2019-11-07 Thread Yang Wenjun
Hi Team,

According to this post:
https://groups.google.com/d/msg/adwords-api/CbnlD9nqous/HwP8X2ZJBwAJ
It seems it is not possible to create UniversalAppAd in Adwords API.

After a few months later, is possible now?

If so, do you have sample code for creating UniversalAppAd ?
If not, actually I did not find any sample code for doing this.

Please help!
Thanks!

Thanks for pointing out this.
But do you have any sample code for creating adGroups for UAC ?
I have checked this example code:
https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-python/blob/master/examples/basic_operations/add_campaigns.py

But seems it is not for UAC.

Please help with this, thanks!

RE: Getting Errors from a Campaign Mutate - Google Ads API (V2) - PHP

2019-11-07 Thread Dan GTD
Thanks, I’m pretty sure what limits are being hit but I want to know how to
find that out via the errors. As you can see in my email it doesn’t give
specifics, like which campaign(s) had the error(s) and what campaign limit
specifically was hit. The errors just say this:

Indicates that this request would exceed the number of allowed resources in a
Campaign. The exact resource type and limit being checked can be inferred from
accountLimitType, and the numeric id of the Campaign involved is given by
enclosingId.

How do you check the accountLimitType and enclosingId?

Thanks

Dan

Re: TargetingIdeaService v201809 malformed response

2019-11-07 Thread Jacob Peebles
Nikisha,

I very much appreciate you taking the time to respond. However, I have a
few more questions and asks:

- Yes we are doing this work against our test API account (I assume you
mean the API is in test mode). However, you say 'keyword ideas might result
in junk data'...does 'might' mean that we will never get a proper response
for keywords in test mode? It would be good to know what to expect (and not
to expect)
- If we always get junk back for keywords using the API in test mode...how
do we test that our code is working as designed? How do we verify
functionality prior to going to production?
- Could you form up the SOAP request as you've been generous enough to do
the last two times we've asked? The resource you provided are helpful, and
we'll use them however our code is in go and it would be really helpful to
get the properly formed SOAP if you could provide it.

Thanks Nikisha,

- Jake

RE: listAccessibleCustomers for any account

2019-11-07 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello Max,

I understand your concern. Once you have an approved developer token you can
use it to any account it wouldn't throw any error. The shared error will occur
when the access token is not passed to the API call properly. Access token is
the one linked to your email address and using which you can access only
account that are accessible using that email address and the account under
their hierarchy.

If you share the complete request and response that you are passing I would be
able to take a look. Please use reply privately to the author option while
sharing the information requested. Also, you could refer the API call structure
here to see if you are missing access token in the header part of your request.

RE: TargetingIdeaService v201809 malformed response

2019-11-07 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Jacob,

Thank you for reaching the support. From the shared response, it looks like you
are trying to generate the keyword ideas against your test accounts. Please
note, using the test accounts to fetch keyword ideas might result in the junk
data. For your other concern related to generating SOAP requests, you could use
this guide and the code samples from the client libraries for reference while
creating SOAP requests to make calls against API. Let us know if you have any
additional concerns.

Unfortunately, we do not have any service in Google Ads API that you could use

Getting Errors from a Campaign Mutate - Google Ads API (V2) - PHP

2019-11-07 Thread Dan GTD
Hi!

So i'm uploading a number of *CampaignCriterionOperations* using
*mutateCampaignCriteria* and I need to act on any errors for the individual
operations that may arise. So at the moment i'm getting the following error
responses:

ApiException was thrown with message '{

"message": "Request contains an invalid argument.",

"code": 3,

"status": "INVALID_ARGUMENT",

"details": [

{

"@type": 0,

"data":
"type.googleapis.com\/google.ads.googleads.v2.errors.GoogleAdsFailure"

},

{

"@type": 0,

"data": [

{

"errorCode": {

"resourceCountLimitExceededError": "CAMPAIGN_LIMIT"

},

"message": "Indicates that this request would exceed
the number of allowed resources in a Campaign. The exact resource type and
limit being checked can be inferred from accountLimitType, and the numeric
id of the Campaign involved is given by enclosingId.",

"trigger": {

"stringValue": ""

},

"location": {

"fieldPathElements": [

{

"fieldName": "operations",

"index": "7"

}

]

}

},

How do I get the ID of the campaign that had the error and the exact
resource type and limit? I can't see any way/example to use
accountLimitType? Or enclosingId?

I have also tried adding ['partialFailure' => true] but that just gives an
error:

Error occurred during parsing: Class
google.ads.googleads.v2.errors.GoogleAdsFailure hasn't been added to descriptor
pool

Any pointers would be great!

Thanks

Dan.

listAccessibleCustomers for any account

2019-11-07 Thread Max Headroom
I have the following issue developing a third party service that needs to
integrate with client's Google Ads accounts

My business account *A*@gmail.com is

   - configured for API access, has developer token *TA*
   - can authenticate via OAuth and execute google ads api calls ending
   developer token TA
   - I can make a successful call to istAccessibleCustomers to list all the
   resource names of customers directly accessible by a...@gmail.com (the user
   authenticating the call)

Now, if I another account (i.e. a client account *B*@gmail.com)
authenticates and I send a request with *B's OAuth credentials* and *my
developer token TA*, I cannot listAccessibleCustomers, getting the error:
"*Request is missing required authentication credential. Expected OAuth 2
access token, login cookie or other valid authentication credential.*"

Does this mean that the developer token will allow me to access only
accounts under my business account a...@gmail.com and not under any other
client account that authenticates, granting me the adwords scope?
If so, is there a way to have access to any authenticated user's accounts,
since they grant the adwords scope in the OAuth dialog?

Please correct me if I'm wrong and if there's a better way to implement a
3rd party app with access to any authorised account (as we already do when
uploading videos to any channel of authenticated users).

Thanks in advance.

RE: KeywordID Different For Same Keyword

2019-11-07 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Charles,

The Criteria in the AdWords API are uniquely identified by the combination of
their CriterionId and either the CampaignId or AdGroupId, depending on where
the criteria is. Since this keyword is being added to a different AdGroups, the
Criteria Id may be the same but the (AdGroupId, CriterionId) combination is
not the same for these AdGroups. You may see the same AdGroupCriterion in
different AdGroups as the criterionId is not globally unique. You need to use
the (AdGroupId, CriterionId) or (CampaignId, CriterionId) pair to map to
unique entities. This is the unique way to identify the keywords in multiple ad
groups.

Thanks,
Bharani, Google Ads API Team

I've expected, that it'll return the same objects, but with understandable
texts. That adding like "ca633710" looks too weird. When I send it to my
Google AdWords ad group keywords, they are added but with "Low search
volume" status.

There's an example
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/targeting-idea-service
with
good response, but there's no raw SOAP request, that I can try to send.
What I'm doing wrong? And maybe you can provide me with the right SOAP
request?
