How to your app send an event to Google Ads about tracking conversion and remarketing events?

2022-05-11 Thread Jungsuk Lee
I have an app built with Swift v5.

I'like to know about how my app send an event to Google Ads about tracking
conversion and remarketing events?

I saw an document here

.
It says how to do conversion tracking using objective-c.
It doesn't say about remarketing events.

How do I send an remarketing event to Google Ads for a specific conversion?

Thanks in advance

RE: FeedItem Removal

2022-05-11 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Mugesh,

Thank you for reaching out to Google Ads API support. Regarding sitelink
migration reporting, you can use our recommended asset_field_type_view report.
You may also use our ad_group_asset, campaign_asset and customer_asset for
assets linked at different levels.

Since the migration created new objects for your sitelinks, before migration
metrics are available only on your old assets using extension_feed_item while
new assets will have after migration metrics in the reports I mentioned above.

Regarding Sitelinks and Sitelinks(upgraded) I can guess that the old deprecated
sitelinks are in sitelinks and the new sitelinks are in Sitelinks(upgraded),
you may reach out to product support to be certain.

Here is our guidance on removing deprecated extensions.

If you have an issue not described above you may send us privately a 'DEBUG'
log level request and response log of API communications and full screen
screenshots of the UI showing your issue.

The request and response appears similar to the JSON Mappings in our REST
documentation with additional headers and information such as request Id. Our
client libraries have loggers with logging instructions, to see these
instructions you can click on the client library you use in the sidebar of our
client library guide and click on "Logging”.

If you are using our REST interface then the full multi line curl command line
is a request log and adding curl command line option '-i' will also generate a
response log.

The screenshot and API report need to be done during the same time frame as
there are changes to the data over time described in the data freshness guide
from product support.

Feel free to get back to us.

Regards,

Aryeh

Offline User Data Job Stuck in 'RUNNING' State

2022-05-11 Thread 'Harris' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
I'm trying to run remove operations using offline user data jobs to remove
user identifiers from CRM based user lists. When I run the offline data
jobs with email or phone number (contact information) user identifiers, the
jobs resolve pretty quickly (never longer than an hour).

However, when the user identifier is an advertising ID, the jobs seem to
get stuck - reporting that they are 'RUNNING' for a much longer amount of
time, and I have yet to see one ever resolve. The example I'm looking at
now has been running for over a week, for example.

Is this expected behavior? If so, is there a 'typical' amount of time this
takes? Or is something wrong here?

Thank you!

Multiple rows with same segment value

2022-05-11 Thread Anant Prasad
Hi team,

We were having some issues with a particular segment called
`segments.click_type` in `campaign` resource. When we query the data from
the API, we are getting segmented results as expected but the issue is that
whenever the segment value is `UNKNOWN`, the API is returning multiple rows
with the same segment name. Isn't it expected that the data will be
combined if the segment value is same?

To be more precise about the issue I am describing, here is a link to a CSV
which signifies how we are receiving this data on our side.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DjD3XzB_zuf1sAPiYOY4rkOyXCydWNyQUBv6DoKfxto/edit?usp=sharing

Based on this data, I think that the API is not treating the `UNKNOWN`
values as a unique value and hence returning multiple rows.

Since this behaviour is not visible in other segment types, wanted to know
if this is an expected behaviour on the API's end or some issue with the
`click_type` segment.

Please let me know if any more information is required to look into this.
Thanks!

Best,
Anant P.

Re: Nested where clause and OR clauses

2022-05-11 Thread Kristijan Novaković
Here is an example where OR could be useful:
SELECT customer.id, metrics.impressions, metrics.all_conversions FROM
customer where metrics.impressions != 0 or metrics.all_conversions != 0
(using *and *in stead of *or *is valid)

That same query is where nesting is required, for example:
SELECT customer.id, metrics.impressions, metrics.all_conversions FROM
customer where segments.date >= '2022-04-01' and segments.date <=
'2022-04-30' and (metrics.impressions != 0 or metrics.all_conversions != 0)

Re: A GoogleAds API Call is taking long time time execute when creating a custom audience using MutateUserListsResponse in Java

2022-05-11 Thread 'Danilo Mozeli' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Yasar,

Thanks for the response. I've enabled the logging in java using
log4j-slf4j-impl.
When I execute the java class I'm no longer getting the warnings saying
that the logging libraries were not setup. However, it is not showing any
log in console of a file.

Is there any sample or detailed documentation that I can use to setup the
log correctly when using the client libraries?

This is an example of my call:
java com.google.ads.googleads.examples.remarketing.AddCustomerMatchUserList
-Dapi.googleads.maxLogMessageLength=-1
-Dlog4j.configurationFile="C:\ELC\Social\Google_Ads_New_18\command\log4j2.xml"

log4j2.xml - file below:

org.apache.logging.log4j
log4j-slf4j-impl
2.17.2
test

Thanks,

Danilo

Thank you for posting your concern to the Google Ads API forum and providing
detailed information.

Upon checking it, I can see that the issue is more client library related as
the enum that your client library is using is not aligned with the enums in the

CUSTOMER_NOT_ENABLED error in v10

2022-05-11 Thread r10.m...@gmail.com
Hi Team,

We are using v10 google ads API in our. We are making listaccessible call
to get list of direct accessible accounts. For each account, we have used
below GAQL query to fetch the details of that account.

*SELECT  customer.id,  customer.descriptive_name,  customer.manager,
customer.auto_tagging_enabled, customer.status FROM customer WHERE
customer.status = 'ENABLED'"*;

Using below function to make a request:

* GoogleAdsServiceClient.SearchPagedResponse response; response =
googleAdsServiceClient.search( SearchGoogleAdsRequest.newBuilder()
.setQuery(query) .setCustomerId(Long.toString(customerId)) .build());*

Even though we are using Enabled status , still i am seeing
CUSTOMER_NOT_ENABLED error

```
errors {
  error_code {
authorization_error: CUSTOMER_NOT_ENABLED
  }
  message: "The customer can\'t be used because it isn\'t enabled."
}
request_id: "03obkXEENDCCxVmotA_nvg"
Why the request is still failing with CUSTOMER_NOT_ENABLED error , if i
have added the *customer.status = 'ENABLED' in *GAQL query.
Thanks
Which resource is now supposed to contain the metrics from "Ads & Extensions"->"Sitelinks"?
2022-05-11 Thread Konstantin Tarassow
Hello,
One of our customers has sitelinks for which the statistics data was
fetched using the feed_item resource (since we used the
PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT report in the old API and the official
replacement for that is using the feed_item resource). Starting from
2022-04-28, however, the metrics dropped to 0.
We tried to find the corresponding stats data in the
"assets" resource but that only returned items of type "text", no sitelinks.
We tried to use the campaign_asset and the ad_group_asset resources but
they have no data stats data at all.
The ad_group_ad_asset_view only contains data for AppAds according to the
documentation.
SO WHAT IS THE SUPPOSED source for sitelinks stats if feed_item does not
work any more as it seems?
Queries regarding migration to Google Ads
2022-05-11 Thread IT Development
Hello Team,
We are trying to migrate to Google Ads API. Below are our questions.
   - We are using below url to view the reports for google ads. Please
   confirm if its correct, if it's not correct please share the UI link for
   Google ads reports
  - https://ads.google.com/aw/reporting/reporteditor/predefinedreports
   - We are using FINAL URL REPORT as part of Adwords API, we are not able
   find the equivalent report, Please share the equivalent one.
  - We used download report using report definition as part of Ad words
  API. For Google Ads API, we found that through query we can fetch
required
  columns from different views. Please let us know if we can download
report
  directly through API or if there is any alternative approach.
Thank you,
VMware IT Team.
Re: getMetrics() result does not yield for all keywords
2022-05-11 Thread Alexander Orlov
Thanks a lot for the answer and especially for hinting to the new version.
Historical metrics include now more fields I need.
I was able however to already solve my problem:
Some of the missing keywords were hiding in close_variants and some others
were added (unexpectedly) to the original list, which I passed. Though,
with some array_diffs I was able to find all (!) missed (and new) keywords.
Thanks again for your efforts.
RE: Assets API
2022-05-11 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,
Thank you for raising this concern to the Google Ads API Forum. With regard to
your question, please refer to my answers below:
1. What is the purpose behind the `url_custom_parameters` field on Assets?
-The list of mappings used to substitute custom parameter tags in a
tracking_url_template, final_urls, or mobile_final_urls.
2. How can I identify the exact Asset/headline/description that was clicked on
when someone engages with my Ad and the Ad has multiple Assets?
-To answer this question, could you please provide a screenshot where we can
see this in the UI? so that we can confirm if this can be seen in the API too.
Best regards,
Jinky
RE: Customer Match Job Duration
2022-05-11 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Mike,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Support team.
With regards to your concern. "It takes 6 to 48 hours for a list to be
populated with members" Yes your understanding is correct because in our
documentation said It takes 6 to 48 hours for a list to be populated with
members, so you'll most likely see an "In Progress" status (on the Google Ads
UI) if you upload to an audience list more frequently than once every 12 hours.
If your job includes a remove_all operation, it may run for up to 72 hours.
However, Can you further elaborate on what you meant by: Does it vary by the
number of operations in the job or the number of user data in the operations?
Does it depend on the size of the existing destination list, or the match rate?
Darwin
Cancel/Stop BatchJob stuck in RUNNING state
2022-05-11 Thread Lorenzo Scortichini
Hello,
like others, we're facing many BatchJobs stuck in RUNNING state for a long
time.
At this point, we're looking for a way to stop/cancel a running Batch.
Looking up the documentation (especially the Usage flow), I wonder if this
is possible.
Tried using BatchJobServiceClient's CancelOperation and DeleteOperation on
the LongRunningOperation I always receive UNIMPLEMENTED.
TLDR :
Is there a way to abort a BatchJob running?
If not after how long are those running batches discarded by the API?
Kind regards
Lorenzo
Slow
2022-05-11 Thread Kubber
I'm trying to remove CampaignCriterionOperation using BatchJobService.
It used to work quite quick until last Thursday, but now it's very slow it
can take 30 minutes before it's done, and the amount of data is the very
same.
I see the same issue on uploading CampaignCriteria.
How long should it take to delete let's say 2 criteria?
I'm using code more less like this:
batch_job_service = client.get_service("BatchJobService")
batch_job_operation = client.get_type("BatchJobOperation")
batch_job = client.get_type("BatchJob")
client.copy_from(batch_job_operation.create, batch_job)
response = batch_job_service.mutate_batch_job(
customer_id=customer_id, operation=batch_job_operation
)
resource_name = response.result.resource_name
operations = []
for cbm in chunk:
campaign_criterion_operation =
client.get_type("CampaignCriterionOperation")
campaign_id = cbm.split(',')[0]
criterion_id = cbm.split(',')[1]
campaign_criterion_operation.remove =
f"customers/{customer_id}/campaignCriteria/{campaign_id}~{criterion_id}"
mutate_operation = client.get_type("MutateOperation")
client.copy_from(getattr(mutate_operation,
"campaign_criterion_operation"), campaign_criterion_operation)
operations.append(mutate_operation)
batch_job_service.add_batch_job_operations(
resource_name=resource_name,
mutate_operations=operations,
)
response = batch_job_service.run_batch_job(resource_name=resource_name)
for i in range(1, 20):
time.sleep(10*i)
if response.done():
   ...
Cheers,
Jakub
Re: Generating refresh token
2022-05-11 Thread Katherine Martin
Hi Carmela,
Thank you for that. I understand it references refresh tokens, however I am
struggling to follow it and need additional help. Is there someone from
support who I can have a call with? On the documentation it says: ' The
authorization sequence begins when your application redirects a browser to
a Google URL; the URL includes query parameters that indicate the type of
access being requested.' I don't understand what the URL is, can I have
some example code that I can run?
Thanks,
Re: What is the exact Google Ads API v9 sunset date?
2022-05-11 Thread Ершов Александр
Hello, Jakeia Sabrina!
The v10 library for PHP which we're using contains a couple of big changes
- requires PHP 7.4
- requires Composer v2.0
So before deploying it to production, we need to make sure that our
websites using the Google Ads API php library is fully functional and work
without any issues.
It's a big change and requires time to QA and fix some issues that come
along the way.
That's why it's important for us to know what "June/July 2022" means -
closer to 1st of June or the 31st of July.
Since it's only a couple of weeks before the June, we're assuming the worst
case scenario (1st of June is the deadline),
but wanted to know from the Google Ads API team.
Best wishes,
Alexander
