Google Ads Smart Shopping Campaign - Product Group - Product inclusion/exclusion via API

2022-07-06 Thread Sean F.

I'm having a little bit of trouble getting my head around modifying the
Product Groups for Google Ads Shopping Campaigns via the Google Ads API.
What I need to do is to modify the product inclusion and exclusion for
certain campaigns.
This is what it looks like in the UI:

[image: google_ads_shopping_product_group_exclusion.png]

Is it possible to get a list of products that are included and excluded (so
one list would include shopify_au_143132..., and the other list would
include all the rest of the products)? And would it be possible to modify
these inclusion/exclusions via the API?

Thanks,

Thanks for your replies.

Today is happy.

I have seen a few more of my SSC campaigns with upgrade status available.
I think my new SSC campaigns are in your *queue*.
I will wait a few more days to see all the campaigns to upgrade.

Standard Access Level Approval Response

2022-07-06 Thread Travis
Hello Google and Others,

My organization has been in the process of back and forth multi week
communication with the Google Ads API Compliance Team, and we were
receiving email responses back approximately the next business day.
However, the last email we received from Google was 8 days ago. Is the
Google Ads API Compliance Team unavailable? This is becoming a significant
issue for my organization and our customers due to the increasingly high
error rate of the Adwords API that we are trying to replace with the Google
Ads API. For our reporting volume we need Standard Access level approval as
the Basic Access level daily operations limit /quota is too low.

Appreciate any help or insight!

Sincerely,
Travis

Re: iRe: The click associated with the given identifier or iOS URL parameter occurred less than 6 hours ago, please retry after 6 hours have passed

2022-07-06 Thread Mike M
Alex, I know that I'm responding to this thread very late. (I don't work
for Google, btw.) We encountered the same delay issue in our campaigns. To
rectify the problem, we added a tracking system called Matomo (which has a
free community edition adn was formerly called Piwik) so that we could
create event pixels in our customer flow and then track those to see where
issues were and fix those, as well as do split tests, etc. This gives you
an instant dashboard to see events live. Eventually, I coded a custom
replacement to Matomo for our company using PHP and MySQL which suited our
needs even better than Matomo. However, we use the google offline
conversions API because we found that using Javascript tracking pixels back
to Google was not as accurate as using the API, and because then we could
upload upsells that occur in our call center separate from a customer's ad
click flow (just as long as we stored their gclid in our database for later
use in that upsell flow). Yes, there's a 6 hour delay for what Google sees
and optimizes on, but our campaigns operate fine and we can use the Matomo
(and now our custom code) for looking at the data differently and live.

Re: Get conversion action for uploading offline clic conversion

2022-07-06 Thread Mike M
I had this same problem. I don't know if this will resolve you, but
basically I needed to understand that a Conversion Action is not the
physical string label of it. For instance, I had a Conversion Action with a
label "Upsell 1". I couldn't pass "Upsell 1" as the conversion action at
least in the REST API. (You might be using gRPC/SOAP, which might be
different here, by the way.) Instead, I had to find the numerical ID for
that conversion action labeled "Upsell 1". The trick is to go into Google
Ads Manager, find the Conversion Action, click to edit it, and then look in
the URL at the ctID parameter. Click Cancel on that Edit when you write
down that ID.

Moreover, you have to put that numeric ID into a string that looks like so
(as far as my PHP code is concerned):

"customers/$sLinkedCustomerID/conversionActions/$nConversionID"

...where $nConversionID is that number from the ctID parameter in the URL
that you saw.

The docs don't appear to tell you this, do they?

The other thing to denote is the confusion of Customer IDs. Use this rule
of thumb:

- Used 2 Adwords accounts? One for developer and one for the actual account
you want to change? If so, then the URL for the API call as well as the
actual conversion needs the Customer ID to be the Linked Customer ID, while
the header for the REST API call needs to be the Login Customer ID (ie, the
developer account used for making the API calls).

---OR---

- Used 1 Adword account for both API call and where you want to make the
change? If so, then the Linked Customer ID and Login Customer ID should be
the same value.

Hope this helps.

Re: User doesn't have permission to access customer. Note: If you're accessing a client customer, the manager's customer id must be set in the 'login-customer-id' header. See https://developers.google

2022-07-06 Thread Mike M
Hmmm. As far as I understand it, the Customer ID used in the URL should be
the Linked Customer ID. Basically, that's the customer ID where you wish to
add, modify, or remove data. And you have to be granted permission by the
other Google Adwords account to be able to do that linkage. The Login
Customer ID, however, is what I use in the REST header to be the Google
Adwords account of the account used for the API calls (ie, my developer
account). The only reason I would make them the same ID is when in fact
they might be, such as someone using one single Google Adwords account to
not only do the API call but to affect the same account where you placed
the API call. In my particular case, I'm working with multiple clients, and
so I have my Login Customer ID, and then multiple Linked Customer IDs.

So, yes, you are correct if you're likely doing the API call from the same
account where you wish to make this change. But for other readers of this
post who have multiple clients, I wanted to address this so that they are
clear as well. The documentation is not very clear on this.

Certain campaigns are not returned on Google Ads API

Hi there.
I'm facing some issues on getting reporting data via the Google Ads API
v10. On the UI I'm able to see these campaigns, but I cant get these
campaigns via API. Below is the request I'm doing:

*POST *Request to:
*https://googleads.googleapis.com/v10/customers/5984560225/googleAds:search*

Request Body:
{

*   "query":"SELECT customer.currency_code, campaign.name, campaign.id,
ad_group.id, ad_grouicros, metrics.impressions,
ad_group_criterion.keyword.match_type, ad_group_criterion.keyword.text,
segments.device, bidding_strategy.status, meHERE segments.date BETWEEN
'2022-07-02' AND '2022-07-02' ",   "pageSize":1000*
}

I exported the same definition of this report via UI, and I'm able to see
these missing campaigns. Here are a couple of missing campaigns:
Campaign Ids:
- 17316450938
- 17316451340

Is there a default filter on the API?
Thank you in advance.

Re: User doesn't have permission to access customer. Note: If you're accessing a client customer, the manager's customer id must be set in the 'login-customer-id' header. See https://developers.google

2022-07-06 Thread Aman Bansal
Hi,

I found the issue. I was passing correctly the *login-customer-id* the
issue was in the URL
https://googleads.googleapis.com/v11/customers/*[CUSTOMER_ID]*
/customerClientLinks:mutate

Google says *[CUSTOMER_ID]* should be customer id but it should be
equal to *login-customer-id
== [CUSTOMER_ID]*

So when I pass the same ID to both parameters API works.

Discovery campaigns feature parity with UI

2022-07-06 Thread 'Adam Nagy' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Dear Google Ads API developers,

I was wondering if there is anything that the gRPC/REST API cannot do but
the UI can do?
In other words: can the gRPC / REST API clients do the same as the Google
Ads UI can for discovery campaigns?

Thank you,
Adam

Re: Google Ads API JavaScript client library

2022-07-06 Thread Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Adam,

Thank you for the reply. Please disregard my last reply as it was just an
internal process of our team.

Moving forward, I am afraid that we don't have access to the plan about
supporting the JavaScript client library and when it will be supported.
However, if you want to have JavaScripts client library, the build files
provide targets for building Generated API Clients (GAPICs)
 based on the Google Ads
API protocol buffers. These GAPIC libraries are not officially supported
client libraries. They are provided to aid in understanding the internals
of the API's client library generation process or building custom
gRPC-based clients. However, any custom clients built using these artifacts
are not officially supported by Google. For production ready client
libraries, use our official client libraries at
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/client-libs.

Google ads migration missing HistoricalMetrics for some keyword

2022-07-06 Thread anuj sen
Hi Team ,

We are migrating from google adwords to goole ads api .
I am following below example reference
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/keyword-planning/generate-historical-metrics
here we have alter the method
*createKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywords *
and passing a list of text to create a list of KeywordPlanAdGroupKeyword

*public static void createKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywords( GoogleAdsClient
googleAdsClient, Long customerId, String planAdGroupResource, List
keyWords) { // Creates the keywords for keyword plan.
Stream listKeywordPlanAdGroupKeyword =
keyWords.stream().map(kw-> getSafeKeyWord(kw)).distinct().map(s ->
getKeywordPlanAdGroupKeyword(planAdGroupResource,s)); // Creates an
operation for each plan keyword. List
operations = listKeywordPlanAdGroupKeyword .map(kw ->
KeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordOperation.newBuilder().setCreate(kw).build())
.collect(Collectors.toList()); try (KeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordServiceClient
client =
googleAdsClient.getLatestVersion().createKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordServiceClient())

{ // Adds the keywords. MutateKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordsResponse response =
client.mutateKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywords(String.valueOf(customerId),
operations); // Displays the results. System.out.printf(" Created
MutateKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordResult for keyword plan: %s%n",
response.getResultsList().size()); for
(MutateKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordResult result : response.getResultsList())
{ // System.out.printf("Created keyword for keyword plan: %s%n",
result.getResourceName()); } }}*

*public static Stream
getMsVolumesList(KeywordPlanKeywordHistoricalMetrics
kphm){Stream msVolume =
kphm.getKeywordMetrics().getMonthlySearchVolumesList().stream();
Stream searchvolumeStream= msVolume.map(y -> new
SearhVolume(kphm.getSearchQuery(), (int)y.getYear(),
y.getMonth().getNumber()-1,y.getMonthlySearches()) ); return
searchvolumeStream; } public static List
generateHistoricalMetricsForPlanId(GoogleAdsClient googleAdsClient, Long
customerId, Long planId) { String planResourceName =
ResourceNames.keywordPlan(customerId, planId); try
(KeywordPlanServiceClient client =
googleAdsClient.getLatestVersion().createKeywordPlanServiceClient()) {
GenerateHistoricalMetricsResponse response =
client.generateHistoricalMetrics(planResourceName);
List kwPlanKeywordHistoricalMetrics =
response.getMetricsList(); System.out.printf("### Recived
MutateKeywordPlanAdGroupKeywordResult for keyword plan: %s%n",
kwPlanKeywordHistoricalMetrics.size()); Stream
searchvolumeStream = kwPlanKeywordHistoricalMetrics.stream().flatMap(x ->
getMsVolumesList(x)); return
searchvolumeStream.collect(Collectors.toList()); } }*

Issue :
Here i am not able to get responce for all the keywords
for example if i am passing 10 keywords then i am getting responce for only
8 keywods
what could be the reason for that ??
also how can i debug this as API is not failing any where

Upload Enhanced Conversions For Leads - remove periods from gmail addresses

2022-07-06 Thread Pablo Hernández Lázaro
Hi devs!

Following this section

 of
the doc, all periods (.) that precede the domain name in gmail.com and
googlemail.com
have to be removed. But in the Customer Match section
,
 I
can't find this anywhere. So, is this more of a recommendation or can it
have a critical impact if not enforced / what would happen if not enforced?

Thanks,

Pablo

sorry, I made a mistake. The following is the correct sentence.
* The value of 301,000 for the API version is the same as the monthly
average search volume value for the last 12months(*2021/06-2022/05*).

Re: [KeywordPlanService.GenerateHistoricalMetrics]About avg_monthly_searches when specifying a period

2022-07-06 Thread team AD-kwd
Thank you for your reply.

The period was specified in year_month_range.

To give a specific example, for example, when searching for the word
"東京タワー" with a period of 2020/06-2021/05,
monthly average search volume for screen version: 165,000
Monthly average search volume for API version(*avg_monthly_searches*):
301,000
Will be returned.All of these are targeted in Japan.
* The value of 301,000 for the API version is the same as the monthly
average search volume value for the last 12months(2022/06-2021/05).

[Supplementary information]
When you search for the word "東京タワー" by setting the period of
2020/06-2021/05 with the API, the same value as the screen version will be
returned for the search volume (*monthly_search_volumes*) of each month.
