Re: upload enhanced conversions without using the conversion adjustment service

2023-10-19 Thread Alex Garcia
This way of interacting with the API is not documented anywhere. It is the
first time I've heard this is possible.

Also, a reply from your colleague to this thread on Sept 21st and Sept 22nd
is contradictory to what you've just mentioned.

Overall, it is not clear how to proceed.

Ideally, the documentation should be updated & improved.

And we would like to see code examples of how we can send the user
identifiers along with other basic conversion data in the same call.

Also, it is not clear in the documentation if we should send the Enhanced
Conversion Data WITHIN 24 hours, as stated here: "Make sure to send the
conversion data using the Google Ads API within 24 hours of the conversion
to ensure that we can attribute and perform the measurement for you in a

we should send the Enhanced Conversion Data AFTER 24 hours, as stated here:

2023-10-10 Thread Alex Garcia
Hi there, can you please clarify this text: "In order to implement enhanced
conversions using the Google Ads API, you must record conversions using a
regular conversion tracking tag on your website." extracted from this
link: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/13261987

We want to send Conversion Data via API + Enhanced Conversion Data via API.

Is this possible or not?

2023-09-29 Thread Alex Garcia
Hi there, thanks for the update in the documentation & system! So now it's
clear that we can send click data the moment it is generated and we no
longer have to wait 6 hours for that.

Can you please check this thread as
well? https://groups.google.com/u/1/g/adwords-api/c/dbMP1K_yb6w/m/0q7RhSQFBQAJ

If we want to upload Enhanced Conversions, do we still need to wait 24
hours after we send the initial Conversion data?

This waiting time should be reduced as well, for convenience, or even
better, being able to send the Enhanced data in the same call as the
Conversion data.

Re: upload enhanced conversions without using the conversion adjustment service

2023-09-22 Thread Alex Garcia
The way this works is not optimal. We should be able to send all the data
in the same request. This behavior (sending all the data at once) is used
in all the other advertising APIs: Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit etc.

Plus I see the following > Key Point: Wait 24 hours after a conversion is
reported before adjusting it to avoid a CONVERSION_NOT_FOUND or
TOO_RECENT_CONVERSION error.

So not only do we need to wait 6 hours to send the "*uploadClickConversions*"
data, but we need to wait another 24 hours to send the "
*uploadConversionadjustments*".

Again, this is a problem of Google Ads API and the way it works in the
backend. I guess the only reason why you implement such long waiting times
is because your system can't process data on the go, and it has a queue of
events to process. This can be solved by improving the way you process
events (gclid / wbraid / gbraid). Hope you can take this feedback into
consideration!

Hi there, thanks for your reply. In fact, that's the link I was looking at,
but there, all it says is use the "Conversion Adjustment" service.

So it's not really clear in the documentation how we should use the
"Enhanced Conversions for Web" without the "Conversion Adjustment" service.

Can you please clarify or illustrate how a call would be? Maybe using this
code as a base
point:

Upload Enhanced Conversions without using the Conversion Adjustment service

2023-09-17 Thread Alex Garcia
We would like to implement the Enhanced Conversions feature to be able to
send hashed first-party user data to the Google Ads API when upload Offline
Conversions. We already have the Google Ads API implementation in place.

So we would like to know if we can send the enhanced first-party user data
in the same call as the normal user data (gclid, timestamp, value, currency
etc.) or if we need to make an additional call to Google Ads with the
Conversion Adjustment service.

We are getting the first-party user data right when we get the conversion,
so we can send it straight away. I don't see the point of sending it in a
different call to the Google Ads API.

Please clarify if we can send ALL the info in the same call.

Re: ERROR: Customer is not allowlisted for accessing this feature., at conversions[0].wbraid

2022-08-05 Thread Alex Garcia
This is unacceptable.

So 10% of our clicks are coming with WBRAID parameter.

And we can't track them. Because we don't have an Account Manager. And we
can't get one by request.

This is because Google doesn't have the proper systems in place.

I was expecting more from Google to be honest.

Re: ERROR: Customer is not allowlisted for accessing this feature., at conversions[0].wbraid

2022-08-03 Thread Alex Garcia
This is their new reply:

=
Unfortunately, no account manager is assigned to Google Ads account
X. Since account managers are assigned automatically by the system,
we have no way to request the manager. Please follow the API support given
instructions.
=

So it seems that there is no way to get a Google Ads Representative
assigned, and therefore we can't enabled "wbraid" tracking.

Do you see the incongruence here?

Google should better handle these situations, specially when 10% of the
clicks are coming with "wbraid" parameter. That means that 10% of the
tracking IS LOST as of right now.

Just because "wbraid" tracking is on an allowlist only access, and to be
able to get allowed, we need a Google Ads Rep.

Someone here can help us solve this issue?

What should I do now? There should be better guidelines here.

I know how it works Darwin.

I am just providing feedback on why the offline conversions should be
instant and not with a 6 hours delay.

Otherwise, we are at a disadvantage compared to Google Ads conversion tag.

Google Ads API vs Google Ads Conversion Tag

2022-07-30 Thread Alex Garcia
I implemented the Google Ads API because Conversion Tracking based in
cookies / JS is going to end in the near future. I did this with all the
major ad platforms.

The problem with Google is that the Google Ads API does not behave the same
as the Google Ads Conversion Tag.

The biggest disadvantage that I am seeing is the need to wait from 4-6
hours to upload offline conversions. This is specially a big issue when
running big volume campaigns.

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/conversions/upload-clicks
https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/7012522?hl=en

This is too much time to wait to upload conversions. Other ad platforms
allow to send CLICK IDs the moment they are generated.

I don't understand why Google Ads API can't process CLICK IDs in real time
and the Google Ads Conversion Tag can.

This is a clear disadvantage between using the API vs the JS tag. Because
you don't see real time data in the Google Ads dashboard, you see data with
6 hours delay, causing making bad optimization decisions (pausing
campaigns, ad groups, ads etc.)

I hope you can fix this soon and really take action on this feedback.

ERROR: Customer is not allowlisted for accessing this feature., at conversions[0].wbraid

2022-07-30 Thread Alex Garcia
I am getting this error when uploading conversions that used "wbraid"
instead of "gclid":

ERROR: Customer is not allowlisted for accessing this feature., at
conversions[0].wbraid

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/conversions/upload-clicks

I have been reading about "wbraid", and it seems that you need to be
allowlisted to get access to this feature, which doesn't make sense.

And to get allowlisted you need to have a Google Ads Representative
assigned to your account.

Currently I don't have a Google Ads Representative assigned to my account,
so I can't activate the "wbraid" and the tracking for these clicks is lost.

How can I get a Google Ads Representative assigned?

For anyone having this problem. You actually need to create NEW OAuth

I did that, and now it works. If you used the old credentials, the Refresh

They told me the following from the Google Ads Product support team:

*Unfortunately, we're not able to check the origin.Have a nice rest of the

So they are not able to check the origin of the GCLID provided.

Is there a way to check the origin of the GCLID (ourselves), without the
need to interact with the API? Meaning, via the User Dashboard.

In order to get access to Google Ads API Console support team you need to
pay for a higher tier of support.

Can you please confirm that the Project is indeed, "In production" status?
With the screenshot provided.

It seems like the verification process got stuck and it's not moving
forward, but I think the Project is already "In production".

Can you please confirm the following?

When we change the status of the Project OAuth from TESTING to IN
PRODUCTION, should we generate a NEW Google Client ID and Google Client
Secret?

We did the test with the OLD Google Client ID and Google Client Secret
(after changing from TESTING to IN PRODUCTION), and that might be the cause
for it to doesn't work as expected (expired after 7 days).

So even with the "In production" status, we are still getting our refresh
