Re: Adding Audiences to AdGroups or already existing audience.

2018-05-28 Thread Prashant Pandey
*You will be able to add members to an existing list that is serving ads.
However, please note that it takes 6 to 12 hours for a list to be populated
with members and will see the "In Progress" status in the UI. If you're
removing/adding users simultaneously, please ensure that your list contains
at least 5000 email addresses to ensure that ads are served. Please refer
to the caveats section in this guide

for
more information.*
Consider this scenario, I have an audience list associated with an AD which
is serving AD to the people on the audience list. You are suggesting that
I can append emails/phone to this list and the AD will continue to serve AD
to people even if its in 'In Progress' status. But the condition is it has
to be above 5000 entries. Am I correct?

Ex - I have 6234 (> 5000 ) people already in the list seeing the AD and if
I have 1000 more people to add it to the list, then will the old people
still be able to see the list or will the AD stop serving the list entirely
, unless all the new people are added?

Sorry for the confusion

Re: OfflineCredentials generateCredential() limits and best practices

2018-05-24 Thread Prashant Pandey
Hi Peter,
Thanks for the reply. I am confused by your reply. If I am making 1
request (with 2000 emails each) and I am calling the above snippet 1
times , generateCredential() will be called 1 times. I saw the code
and it makes HTTP calls.

*In the examples in the client library such as this one
,
you no longer need to modify the current implementation as it already
automatically does this for you. It retrieves your credentials from your
properties file and refreshes your accessTokens

for
each call that you make.*
What exactly do you mean by properties file? Do you mean that after the
first call to generateCredential() you are storing it in some cache and
retrieving it (to instantiate the session object) for all subsequent
calls?
And also it will only refresh for the access token only after an hour
correct?

Please bear with me. Thanks

request, just that I have never thought of uploading more that 10k emails

OfflineCredentials generateCredential() limits and best practices

2018-05-24 Thread Prashant Pandey

Here

 its
mentioned,

"The client libraries make sharing a credential across threads
straightforward. Each client library has a session (or user) object with a
credential that it reuses throughout its lifetime. To share the credential
across threads, simply construct each session using the same credential. In
all client libraries, the credential is a thread-safe object that refreshes
itself synchronously when its access token expires."

My use case - Using this

 I
am uploading emails/phone numbers to my customers adWords account.
I am using the following code to generate credentials

Credential oAuth2Credential = new OfflineCredentials.Builder()
 .forApi(OfflineCredentials.Api.ADWORDS)
 .withClientSecrets(GOOGLE_ADWORDS_CLIENT_ID, GOOGLE_ADWORDS_CLIENT_SECRET)
 .withRefreshToken(refreshToken).build().generateCredential();

// Construct an AdWordsSession.
AdWordsSession session = new
AdWordsSession.Builder().withClientCustomerId(clientCustomerId)
 .withDeveloperToken(GOOGLE_ADWORDS_DEVELOPER_TOKEN)
 .withOAuth2Credential(oAuth2Credential)
 .withUserAgent("test_user").build();

AdWordsServicesInterface adWordsServices = AdWordsServices.getInstance();
userListService = adWordsServices.get(session,
AdwordsUserListServiceInterface.class);

I am batching 20k emails from my end and for every 20k emails I am firing the
above code. But according to the above quote

(which is a bit confusing), this is not a best practice? If I understand the
above paragraph correctly, do you guys suggest that the

oAuth2Credential variable be made into Thread-Safe object and then it should be
used to create session persistently?

Or If I am mistaken can you guys please help me in explaining this?

Thanks

Re: Is it possible to dynamically update a Customer Match audience?

2018-05-23 Thread Prashant Pandey
*There is a limit depending on the highest amount accounts together spent
in a month, from the last 12 months the maximum account limit varies from a
limit of 50 accounts for less than $10,000 and 2,500 accounts for a spent
between $10,000 to $500,000. The limit is 85,000 accounts for spent greater
than $500,000. You could refer this guide

account limits for a manager account.*I am sorry but I think I have framed
my question wrong.
Scenario - A customer using this
 gives
my firm the access to upload emails on their behalf to their adWords
account (to create audiences). I want to understand, in what way does my
adWords account (the account with which the developer token , used to make
API calls, is associated) gets related/connected to my customers adWords
account (which gives me refresh-token via the above method). Do I become
their Manager account? Or do I remain unconnected?

PS: sorry for the duplicity, It took 2/3 days for my question to be posted

*You will be able to add/remove up to 100 members to a member list.

more information. Batch Job Processing is currently not supported for the
AdWordsUserListService.*
I am confused, sorry. You mean I can add 1Million members to a member list
in one request or overall?

*With a Basic access developer token, you will be able to execute 10,000
operations and download up to 1000 reports per day. So on this scale, if
you're looking to upload up to 50M emails, it would be counted as 50
operations towards the daily limits. *
I will be able to achieve 50 operations only if I send 1Million members per
request correct? I want to understand how are "Operations" defined. If I am
sending 50M emails in 25000 request ( calling mutateMembers 25000 times )
will it still be counted as 50 operations or 25000 operations.

Also what do you suggest the batch size should be? 1 Million or a more
frugal 2k?

Please bear with me.

Thanks

Rate Limit / Best Practices for Remarketing

2018-05-22 Thread Prashant Pandey
Hi I have few question regarding the rate-limiting for Remarketing.
I have used
your
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/samples/java/remarketing#add-crm-based-user-list

example for my work.
I want to upload 50 million emails using the above example. I want to
understand what are the best practices to do it.
As far as I understand, you can give 1 emails in one request per user
list, correct? That means I have to make 50M/1 = 5,000 request? Or even
worse, as there is no support for Batch Operation for MutateOperation in
above example, I am batching actually 2000 emails per request so that makes
25000 request. At what point would I be get RateLimit exceeded error.

Also is it even possible with basic developer token to make 25000 request.
What is the upper limit for basic developer token?

This is a story of one of our big customers. We have plenty of Customers
looking to upload emails at this scale.

Adding Audiences to AdGroups or already existing audience.

2018-05-22 Thread Prashant Pandey
Hi,
I want to know if I can append more email/phone number
1. To an already existing audience list which is not associated with any
adGroup? (I think yes)
2. To an already existing audience list which is associated to any of the
adGroup and which is actually serving ad's?
In this case I want to understand will the adGroup stop serving ad's
and I have make some changes again for it to serve, or things will run
smoothly?
3. Or do I have to always create a new audience List if I have new
emailID/Phone numbers to retarget?

Re: Is it possible to dynamically update a Customer Match audience?

2018-05-21 Thread Prashant Pandey
Hi Sai,
Thanks for the above solution from Shweta, it worked. I have few queries
regarding the best practices only for customer match and few issues
regarding the structure of your adWords accounts.

1. In what all cases will I get rateLimit errors. There are examples
related to it but not related to customer match. Can you please help me in
this?
Consider a scenario where I have to upload 50million emails. What
should be the number of request and number of threads? As far as I have
understood ,
I can do this is 50million/1 = 50,000 mutateOperation calls. How
frequently can I make these calls? In what case will I get rateLimit?
2. If BatchJob is not supporting MutateOperation then its expected that I
have to create my own batch service? (I have done it but just asking)
3. The use case is - I am providing my customers (around 1 customers)
the capability to upload emails to "their" adwords account. I have created
a developer token (for test-account) for now for development purpose. I
want to know , Am I acting as a manager account for my customers?
If yes! then is there any limit on number of customers a manager
account can have?
if No! then is it fine for me to give my large customer base the
capability to connect their adwords account with my dashboard and upload
emails to their adwords account?
4. Also is there any internal documentation only on Customer Match API? I
have followed this

 and
there is no hint of RateLimiting and best pratices here.
5. I am ready to go live in production with my code , but before that I
have to get standard access developer token correct? How many days does it
take to approve that code?

Thanks for all the help here man!
Much appreciated
