Re: v201406 - service account not working (v201402 does)

2014-07-23 Thread Ray Tsang (AdWords API Team)
The new scope was also announced in the blog
http://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.com/2014/07/new-oauth-20-scope-for-adwords-api.html.

 - The old refresh tokens will continue to work and you shouldn't need to
worry.

Service accounts work a bit differently because service accounts don't use
refresh tokens. We'll update the documentation.

Thanks,

Ray

Are you saying that all refresh tokens become invalid when upgrading to
 v201406?
 Wow.

 Now I have some questions:
Can a refresh token generated for v201406 be used in v201402?
Can I assume that Google is working on an automatic migration for old
 refresh tokens?
In the future, will every new AdWords API version require new refresh
 tokens?

I know these are uncomfortable questions, but please enlighten us.

If this can help anyone I figured out what it was - I had to go back to

 https://admin.google.com/AdminHome?chromeless=1#OGX:ManageOauthClients

and add a new authorization for the new AdWords API scope -
 *https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords
 https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords*

it used to be - *https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/
 https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/*

I wish this was in the migration documentation somewhere - I apologize if
its not, but I didnt see it anywhere

Any idea why the service account would not work with the new version of
