We have 32GB cards in our dashcams, and that gives us a little over 5

Phones and most digital cameras also take videos, so that has probably
made
the "camcorder" obsolete.  Storage is the issue.  I assume a DSLR can
fill
up an SD card pretty quick in video mode.  Or maybe not, given
advances in
flash storage.  But it sounds like you are want to go direct to the

What I would really like is a real camcorder.

One with the flip out lcd view finder and a strap for your hand. Are
those

things still made guess I should look.

But then, saving the data to something globally accessible is key.
Camcorder would probably add a layer of complexity to that.

2019-07-27 Thread chuck

I just bought a nice $99 camcorder from an Amazon vendor.
It has wifi connectivity. LCD screen, hand strap etc. Looks perfect. Even
night vision, zoom etc.
So we will have it in a padded bag but also require one other employee to
use their phone as a back up.

Phones and most digital cameras also take videos, so that has probably made
the "camcorder" obsolete. Storage is the issue. I assume a DSLR can fill
up an SD card pretty quick in video mode. Or maybe not, given advances in
flash storage. But it sounds like you are want to go direct to the cloud?

What I would really like is a real camcorder.

One with the flip out lcd view finder and a strap for your hand. Are those
things still made guess I should look.

But then, saving the data to something globally accessible is key.
Camcorder would probably add a layer of complexity to that.

Yeah camcorders are still around now with flash memory instead of tapes.
A gopro is just a modern take on the classic camcorder. I feel like
sometimes from a procedural point of view having a dedicated worksite
documentation device is less prone to oops wrong mode kind of mistakes,
especially if its prime function is to turn it on and press record and
it's usually obvious it's recording.

Google photos is pretty automatic. Store photos and videos, and there is some
compression if it's a free account. A paid account can have significant
storage. The latest version you can turn off some of the "automaticness".
