[AFMUG] UPC/APC Fiber adapters

2021-11-17 Thread Craig Baird
So, I just want to verify an assumption I've made. I know the difference
between UPC and APC connectors. You can't use one with the other and have
it work out well. I get that. My question has to do with adapters (couplers
like an SC to SC adapter) that you would have on, say, a patch panel. Is
there any difference between an APC SC to SC adapter and a UPC SC to SC
adapter, other than the color? My assumption is that they're just sleeves
to mate the two connectors, and they're agnostic as to whether those
connectors are APC or UPC. In other words, I'm thinking they're identical
and the different colors exist solely for easy identification to keep
people from mistakenly plugging in the wrong connector. So my question
comes down to this: Will an actual, functional problem result from
connecting two UPC connectors using an APC (green) SC to SC adapter?

We did something like that Saturday night. The film was based in rural
France, so cars were not a lot of help (at least to me). The big clue
(to me) was the phones they were able to take pictures, but they mostly
used them to talk. I guessed early 2000s, maybe between 2003 and 2006.
It was actually filmed in 2005, so pretty close.

Re: [AFMUG] OT: Making holiday movies fun again

2021-11-17 Thread Bill Prince
We did something like that Saturday night. The film was based in rural
France, so cars were not a lot of help (at least to me). The big clue
(to me) was the phones they were able to take pictures, but they mostly
used them to talk. I guessed early 2000s, maybe between 2003 and 2006.
It was actually filmed in 2005, so pretty close.

Re: [AFMUG] Chrome and saved Credit Card info

2021-11-17 Thread Nate Burke
When does the 'never' popup? My browser just shows me the autocomplete
list when I click on a field, be it address, or Ccard. The only option
is to 'manage' which goes to the Chrome settings page which just has a
global on/off button.

I've seen the 'never for this site' popup when saving passwords, but not
for other information.

You might have to clear Chrome and then when Sonar comes up decline to have
it save. I know that works for passwords.

Is it one of those contests where they take one answer on the air at 10:50, and
the contest will stretch on for months?
