We don't really see that here on <100 foot towers/buildings and such, where I'd be able to use the integrated ~25dbi dish. Anything 2 foot or 30dbi would be much higher and yes I'd always do a radome for weather and wind load reduction. Thanks Josh, The connectorized is always and option. My main reason for the radomes is ice buildup. It doesn’t happen often but even once every couple years is to much on a backhaul.
