Re: [AFMUG] Aruba Captive Portal

2018-04-23 Thread Craig Schmaderer
The aruba instant aps have a built in captive portal with a few security
options. It is pretty simple to setup but you will have to install your own
cert you don't want the security error. They used to provide an aruba cert but
they revoked it because it got hacked and I don't know if they ever released a
newer version of it.

Has anyone setup a captive portal for an Aruba network? How easy and pricey is
it to do?

Not asking about 3rd party solutions, just if it is built into their
controllers and how easy it
is to implement.

I don't know jack about the duct, but 2c per foot? $2,000 over 20 miles.

If you still need the thicker wall in some circumstances, then you might
lose two grand in the cost of stocking and shipping and handling two rolls of
tube vs one roll of tube.

The first time somebody brings the wrong roll to a job site and has to go
back, then you've lost more than two grand of productivity. Seems like it
couldn't be worth it to me. But I don't know jack.

I am considering using some SDR 13.5 duct where I have always used SDR11
before.

The DR stands for diameter ratio. Ratio between wall thickness and outer
diameter (I think). Higher numbers mean thinner wall thickness.

Others use the 13.5 unless they get into rocky areas. I am a bit gunshy
as the cost is only about 2 cents per foot different.
Anyone here have any experiences they can relate?

A couple of the features that I think make it appealing:

  1. Decision Tree process
  2. Built in tools like the Router emulators
  3. The ability to have a customer text in a picture and have it attached to
the ticket
  4. Ability to assign to not only individuals but also to groups
  5. The integration with Asterisk to have call recordings attached to tickets
  6. Automatic assignment of escalations to the appropriate department based
on the issue.

Powercode and Sonar’s are great, but IssueTracker just has things built very
specifically for customer service. PC and Sonar have been very helpful in
building integrations so it is basically seamless between IssueTracker or
either of those systems.

Hit me up if you want some info on IssueTracker. It is what we used internally
and we do license it (or give it away free for the companies we support). It
has full integration with Zendesk, Powercode, Sonar, UBO, and has pretty good

they can earn.

13.5 kinks easier too, especially 1". Even tho ote stiffer it's easier to
get sdr11 placed and routed into peds/handholds without linking.

The 13.5 tends to squish a little more than 11. If it sits outside long
enough, it is a bit more brittle too. We've had some minor issues where
plowing in rocky areas and the rocks can sometimes squish it.
