BUS: Proto: The Carny (Semi-frivolous ways to spend coins)

2019-10-28 Thread Nch via agora-business
My client appears to have decided to send an old draft of the previous email,
so let's try again.

{

The Carny is an office, and the recordkeepor of all assets defined in this rule.

Turnips are an asset. Turnips are assigned a color based on the week they were
created ('harvested'), in. Turnips created in the week this rule was enacted in
are Red. Weeks follow the order Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo,
Violet. Turnip Price is a switch, tracked by the Carny, with possible values of
integers 1-14 and a default value of 1. Once per week the Carny CAN and SHOULD
set the Turnip Price switch to a random possible value. Any player except the
Carny CAN, by paying the Turnip Price in coins, harvest a Turnip. When a week
begins, all Turnips of the week's color are destroyed ('rot'). Any player CAN
destroy any number of Turnips in eir possession by announcement, when e does so
e CAN earn the Turnip Price in coins for each one.

Chunkstrings are an asset. Chunkstrings have a name, which is the concatenate
string of names of unique players that have owned the chunkstring, in the order
they owned em. Chunkstring Cost is a switch, tracked by the Carny, with
possible values of integers and a default value of 100. Each week the Carny CAN
and SHOULD set the Chunkstring Cost to 1/4th the number of current players
(rounded up). Chunkstring Players is a switch with possible values of sets of
players and null and a default value of null. Once a week the Carny CAN and
SHOULD set the value of Chunkstring Players by:
* Adding a random player to the set, if the set's length is less than half the
number of current players (rounded up).
* Removing a random player from the set, if the set's length is more than half
the number of current players (rounded up).
* Removing a random player from the set, then adding a random player to the
set, if the set's length is exactly half the number of current players (rounded
up).

Any player CAN create a chunkstring in eir possession by paying the Chunkstring
Cost in coins. Any player CAN destroy any chunkstring in eir possession by
announcement, when e does so e CAN earn an amount of coins equal to the number
of players whose name is both in the chunkstring's name and the Chunkstring
Players set. Any attempt to do so without specifying the names in both sets is
INEFFECTIVE.

Turnips - vaguely animal crossing inspired. Essentially a speculative market
with an expiration date.
