Not sure. I'm the one who currently owns the domain and the Cloudflare account, and I just went ahead and enabled "Automatic HTTPS Rewrites” on Cloudflare. So this should be working now. (Incidentally, I wonder if there’s some easy way to escrow the domain in case I get hit by a bus…) Also, GitHub does Let's Encrypt now, so the H. Distributor might want to make sure that Cloudflare is talking to GitHub Pages over SSL as well.] It currently uses SSL but without validating the certificate of the origin server, which is necessary since for some reason GitHub doesn’t generate a certificate for agoranomic.org and instead just serves a www.github.com certificate. Also, the Enforce SSL checkbox on GitHub is disabled with the error message: "Unavailable for your site because your domain is not properly configured to support HTTPS (agoranomic.org)” together with a link to a rather unhelpful documentation page. It would be nice to fix this. Following the advice of some random Google result [1], I switched the origin server to a newer set of IP addresses for GitHub Pages. (Don’t worry, I did check that those IP addresses also showed up in GitHub’s official documentation, as opposed to being some bizarre hijacking attempt.) Also, following the advice of the documentation, I tried disabling and re-enabling the custom domain in the GitHub Pages options. Neither of those has fixed the issue so far: the error next to the checkbox is still there and GitHub is still not serving an agoranomic.org certificate. However, allegedly, it may take some time after changing the settings before GitHub actually generates the certificate, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see. WHEREAS it is the Year of Our Gregorian Calendar Two Thousand Twenty, and WHEREAS encryption has numerous benefits even in circumstances where one has "little nothing to hide," WHEREAS the valiant efforts of Let's Encrypt have made HTTPS certificates cheap and plentiful, and WHEREAS in fact, Agora's website is already accessible over HTTPS if you explicitly type in an https URL, I HEREBY PETITION the Webmastor or Distributor to configure the website such that all those whose user agents have foolishly defaulted to HTTP are instead redirected to HTTPS.
