There are already lots of useful openoffice extensions and I am writing one myself. There should be a way to be able to access the undo stack, or group multiple operations as one for the undo stack, so that undo can revert all the changes done by an extension. As a workaround, I will try to use the XMultiPropertySet to set multiple properties at once, and reduce the number of undo steps necessary to revert my extension's changes. I found that there is a service XUndoManager, but it's in the chart2 package and marked as unpublished. It seems that it doesn't apply to writer documents as I was not able to find an object that implements it. Is this enhancement difficult to i implement or is it just a matter of exposing services that are already available or does it need more coding ? Anyway, today I finally had some time to google the problem and of course I got my answer almost immediately, and it's definitely a case of dumb user (Arggh, just hidden files, foh srs? *headbash against keyboard*) - but I still have to ask: What? Why? Is this behaviour necessary? .~lock files are obviously notoriously dumb (as in, the files themselves, not that they're made). In my case, I had to delete it. Now, I realise there are other programs out there who also create hidden files while a document is open, but that still doesn't strike me as good practise. I realise mine is a fringe case, but other .~lock file issues exist, too: A short while ago, the dev-list had a thread on the subject: Document file lock system could be enhanced (found on mail-archive.com : http://www.mail-archive.com/d...@openoffice.org/msg11730.html ). Solutions to the problem that the .~lock file tries to address cropped up there, too, e.g. remembering a hash of the file on open. Might be worth a revisit? This transparency leads to problems when exporting to PDF with option PDF/A-1a. In version OOo 3.1.1 the transparency was converted to a black area. This problem is solved with ooo320m6 where the background color is used instead. But still a warning message comes up during export that irritates the user. Maybe a rectangle without filling could be used instead of the transparent one? I'll attach an example document to reproduce the problem. It contains different types of 3D scenes - a chart, an extruded custom shape and a 3D ellipse shape.
