And this should only happen if the digit preceding the decimal point in the format string is a hash. That way the grouping works normally when the format is .00E+0 ... so in that case 123456 shows as 1,234.56E+2. But if the format was .00E+0 then it should display as 12.35E+4. But to get that saved and then re applied after you open the file, there would be no difference in the style saved in the file between the above samples. Or should we just disallow grouping with any form of scientific notation? I opened an instance of OO Writer and an instance of another application (Notepad or Thunderbird - it happens with both but I think it may happen more often with Thunderbird). I copied Fred in OO to set up the test. All copy/pastes are Ctrl/c or /v I then copied Tom in Notepad, pasted into OO, copied Fred in OO; copied Tom in Notepad, pasted into OO, copied Fred in OO; ... Initially, Tom got pasted, and I repeated this sequence until pasting into OO wrongly pasted Fred. Conclusion. OO has not captured that something new, Tom, has been placed on the Windows clipboard. When I paste into Notepad, Tom gets pasted as expected. I now repeatedly paste into OO Fred is always wrongly pasted. I wait 1 minute, and paste into OO Fred is wrongly pasted. I open a new OO Writer document (File New text doc) and paste into the new text document. Fred is wrongly pasted. Conclusion. The new document shares the same buffer as the original OO document which is why it wrongly pastes Fred I now repeatedly copy Tom from Notepad, paste into OO; copy Tom from Notepad, paste into OO; ... and repeat. Every time I paste into either of the OO documents, Fred wrongly gets pasted. Conclusion. When in the wrong state OO does not capture when something new is placed on the Windows clipboard. But, not always! While editing this post (in Firefox), I had left OO running. I copied text in this post to move it. When I returned to OO, and pasted, the text from this post was pasted into OO. Somehow, during a delay of several minutes, OO reset itself. The only way to get OO working properly is to copy something in OO. This usually (90%), but not always, resets OO, and OO starts working correctly again. So in case one of the filter is default one it is a correct behavior to use it in the dialog. If we want to change it, we should do it as a feature change. The behavior introduced by the patch in the issue 103568 is just an implementation detail, since it let the file-picker implementation decide which filter should be taken. And I am in doubt that all the file-pickers remembered the last used filter. Additionally, the behavior of any file-picker ( especially a system file-picker ) could be changed any time. Next to each item of income or expenditure is a code allocating it to a particular category (column), each column being headed by the same code . The correct allocation is controlled by IF statements in each cell which compare the column's code to the income/expenditure code e.g. =IF($G8=H$3,$D8,0). Up to and including 320m18 (build 9502) this has produced the expected results. With Build 320m19 (build 9505 under Mint 10, GNOME) amounts are allocated to multiple contiguous columns, making the spreadsheet unusable.
