I am working with OOo 3.1.0 (OOO410m11 (Build:9399)) and I am having the same
issue. I seem to be unable to get rid of the update button that wants me to
download a french dictionary that I would never have asked for. I would argue
that this is even a serious issue as it will discourage people from working with
OOo, as the regular update box is very annoying.

I installed ooo 300m5 (Build 9350) on a Windows XP laptop (Build
2600.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300 : Service Pack2) with Firefox Browser 3.0.1
installed.

When I tried to register during the installation process or through the menu
[Help][Registration...], I get (reproducibly) directed to the following webpage:

I am still unable to register. When I try to do this from within ooo 3.0 (as
described in my original report), I am directed to the following webpage:

https://registration2.services.openoffice.org/RegistrationWeb/register/urn:st:4c71ac35-f6eb-4f9a-89ff-a4d075a3ffe3?product=OpenOffice.orglocale=encid=926117

The same one as before, still with the 'Not found' response.

When I tried to install OOo2.3 using the new installation wizard, installation
did not even start, as the wizard was trying to find libXtst.so.6 (see details
at the end). To my knowledge, I have java installed and it should be working.

Successful workaround: after unpacking I went (as root) into the RPMs directory
and installed OOo using

urpmi ./*.rpm

Please contact me, if you need more information.

Sorry, I thought that this sort of information was automatically read from my
computer and included in what I am submitting.

I am using Mandriva 2007.1 (AMD64), with all the recent updates and patches on a
home-built PC with KDE3.5 as the GUI.
