With the new version OOo 2.0.3 a strange effect came up reulting in a crash of
the application:

Sometimes (I could not identify the specific situation) the focus of an active
activation (writer / Impress; other not tested so far) is lost after pressing
the print botton.
This actually might be intended but the printing dialog does not come up and the
windows remain in the blocked status. All other applications - and in many cases
even the Openoffice - have access to the printing dialog.

The situation requires a hard break of the program.

Sorry that I cannot come up with more specific details but this bug is very
frustrating.

[graphics-issues] [Issue 63779] error in calculation coef ficient of variation (graph)

You are completely right, that the program calculates a variance of the whole
data set and displays the variance of all data results for all data points by
taking aech point as mean for the variance. The problem is that I don't know
anyone who really needs this particular statistical graphics.

The common requirements for data series are the following

1. you have a pool of data measured at one time point (such as in the column of
the example) then you usually (if at all) show the points in one row. i.e. one
!above! the other and add the calculated variance in the same row.

2. you have a set a data for different time points than you calculate the mean
and variance or median and percentile for each time point and display the
results along the time axis (such as in the graph of the example). In this case
the the variance differs from time point to time point along the X-axis. You
need such presentation for scientific data or the representation of stock values
where you have a min/max or variance of the day or a time point of measurement
and display it along the time axis

3. in case of a quality control chart you quantify the variance over all data of
a time series but the representation of the variance is not displayed by taking
each point as a mean showing the variance value for this point value but you
show a two line band by taking the gobal mean (mean of all data points) and
display each data point relative to this lines.

Mark an array, enter a Kursdiagramm and add the coefficent of variation (CV).
The graph shows a line related to the points, the CV is indicated for all
points. However, the CV are identical and calculted as the CV of the marked
points which are taken for the line.

The reason for this error seem to be that if you take columns for showing the
point in the graph the CV is calculatd also along the columns and not row-wise
and vice versa.

In any case you will have a color, i.e. a RGD value from 0\0\0 up to 255\255\255

In the case of a gradient you have color Color1 with CR1\CG1\CD1 and Color2 with
CR2\CG2\CD2

suggestion for a solution of the point:

the start-color (color1 set to 50%) and (color2 set to 50%) should give the same
color,
i.e. this color50% could be like (CR1+CR2)*0,5 \ (CG1+CG2)*0,5 \ (CD1+CD2)*0,5

the start-color (color1 set to C1%) should give
(CR1*C1%+CR2*(1-C1%)) \ (CG1*C1%+CG2*(1-C1%)) \ (CD1*C1%+CD2*(1-C1%))

I don't know whether this fits to the regulation of colors until now, but it
would be a formal way to solve the problem

Another solution that the percentage refers to transparency of the related color
and the other color comes up similar as background

Changing the color percentage of the upper color in the gradient leads to
increased black

TRY:
set! rectangle - area - gradient - upper color grey 10% / lower color white
reduce the quantity of upper color from 100% to 50% - color gradient becomes
blacker than before

reduction of lower color percentage is OK !
