The doc file contains a lot of table / cells that needed to be filled in on a character by character basis. There were at least 3 table / cells that merged everytime I saved and opened the doc file as a doc file (this problem goes away as soon as I save it as an odt). So for eg. the cells contains the following (- as cell separator for eg.) 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 will become 12 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 Another table / cells had a long text in the first cell and second empty for a check mark This is a Long - Text in the Cell - will become T h i s i s a ... so on Also in the same doc the following characters in ASCII code are not handled(?) and show up as gray in the text 160 173 The following ASCII code as a box 32 Please do the needful with this great product Thanks and regards Bhavbhuti - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This problem is now resolved in 2.4.0. If it matter this data is coming from an .odb file which uses the .dbf file. I don't remember why I have done it the way I have done it but being an infrequent and only mailmerge I am using I haven't gone deep except for setting up and getting results and left it like that for some time now. I will try to put it in as an eg. for lack for prefect explanation. Assuming you have a ss with a few columns containing values and formula, they are just being copy pasted and the pasted line is modified with new values. 1) go to cell F55 2) press shift+right arrow to manually hightlisght cells upto M55 3) press ctrl+c 4) press down arrow and the cursor will be in cell M56 That is the problem, from M56 I would not have to left arrow upto F56 before I can paste the copied values and formulas It would have been more comfortable if the down-arrow in point 4 would bring me to F56 where I could simple press ctrl+v Hope it is a valid requirement which will be useful for others. I leave the judgement upto you all. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
