Using OOo I see that often the layout of the text is different between Word and
OOo: often some text that in Word is contained in a single page it is rendered
in two pages in OOo (or viceversa).
In particular in Word I have lines that are rendered at the TOP of a page, while
in OOo are rendered at the BOTTOM of the previuos page.
This destroy completely the appearance of all the following pages.
I'll attach a .doc file that shows the problem.
As you can see in the FIRST page of the attached doc file, OOo shows the text
SOMMARIO at the bottom, while Word shows it at the top of the SECOND page.
Then at the bottom of the second page I can see the text Natural Join e
Equi-Join while in Word it starts at the top of third page. And the same for
the following pages.
So it's impossible to swap documents with people using Word and other people
using OOo, because if I fix the layout in one program then it will be broken in
the other.
So please fix the layout engine to recreate exactly the text positioning used by
Word.
Thanks.

In OOo I can display a row of spaces with the underlines style, so I can see
only a line of undescores. In word I can do the same but the underscores aren't
showed.
I have some documents that show this behaviour: in Word I see nothing (correct),
while in OOo I see random rows of underscores (incorrect).
I think that OOo should emulate the Word behaviour.
Thanks.

I know about page breaks, but many people don't use them.
And if I download a document from the Web (just like the one I had attached) why
should I have to manually insert page breaks just to see it correctly?
You really have to rethink your strategy here: you can't ask the users of your
software to change the habits. Update your software to do what users want.
If you don't then you'll loose many potential users that will continue to use
Word.

I have an application which generates reports using excel.
In the excel file some cells have a thick black border.
Using OpenOffice 3.0 these black borders are thickier than
when using MS Office 2003, and the report looks really ugly.
Also using OpenOffice I see horizontal lines between rows,
that aren't showed using MS Office.
I'll attach an example file showing the bug.
Thanks.

in page 12 and 14 there is a black border and text that should be at the bottom
of the page, but openoffice shows it at the top of it. at page 18 there is a
similar bug: a black border is at the top instead of the bottom, but the text
that should be contained into this border, is displayed outside of it (and also
outside of the page margins).

I've a .doc file that is incorrectly imported:
in Word 2003 there are 5 pages, but OOo only shows 2 pages.
It seems that the different pages have been collapsed into
