Each time you use the PDF exporter (menu Exportieren als PDF or via PDF button
Direktes Exportieren als PDF) the upcoming file dialog wants to save the file
into that location which the Grafiken path is (pre)set to.

According to issue #77340 the directory should be the document directory.

This bug is about the behavior of the fontlist in
Format|Zeichen|Schrift|Schriftart (sorry German version). AFAIR this annoyance
exists since the product was called StarOffice. To reproduce you need a system
with more than say 20 typefaces installed.

1. Type a word, format it with a certain typeface.
2. Open the dialog Format|Zeichen|Schrift|Schriftart
(attachment 1: fontdialog1.png) and click at one of the arrow buttons
3. observe the large jump. One would expect to jump by exactly one position in
the list.

Is there any progress underway? I'm currently testing 3.2RC4/Linux with
OpenTypeFonts and OO is not able to handle i.e. the Futura family (and others
with Condensed or Extra Bold styles) gracefully.

Words in PDF documents which have been generated by printing to the PDF
converter
(ADISTILL/SGENPRT/SGEN42 and ps2pd; gs 8.15.3) are not findable by the search-
function of Acrobat Reader or kpdf, *if* the text is formatted in a TrueType
font.

Expected Behavior: Text shall be found regardless of the font being used.

- Problem shows up in OO 1.1.5.
- There is a difference in PDF's meta information if printed to PDF-converter:
Titel (title), Inhalt (content?), Schlüsselworte (key words) are
  lost

However for proper PDFs please use the PDF export.

Would do so if the PDF export would not generate so horribly large
files:

no-search-in-pdf-exported.pdf 350K
no-search-in-pdf.pdf127K

The PDF conversion using a printer just isn't as capable anyway since
you lose all kinds of stuff (hyperlinks, metainfo, form controls,
 outline, ...)

The question is: Why are Metainfo no longer available in the printed PDF?
In OO 1.1.5 they are. (I don't need Hyperlinks, form controls and the
like)

The only metainfo that ever was there were title,

Yes. The title field is now filled with (filename). But only
if there are no special characters (i.e. umlauts like äöü). Example:
8-Bit-Filename umläute leasds to (b7lWFu) in the title field.

OO115 puts the tile into the title header.

 user name and creation date.
were you by chance using a script solution ?

Besides ps2pdf? No.

I came across this problem when I opened an OO115-generated document with OO203.
The document used 11pt HelveticaNeue-Roman (Helvetica 55 Roman). My well-trained
eye immediately perceived a different scaling and spacing of the glyphs in the
different versions of OO.

I tool a look into the PS-output and performed some tests to compare the glyph
scaling (matrix scale in PS output) of OO115 and OO203. There should (?) be
a factor of 2 in the numbers of OO203 compared to OO115:

*HelveticaNeue-Roman*

pt size OO115 OO203
  matrix scale

  11,0 4686- scaling wrong, should be 92
11,1 4693- scaling OK, rounding like below
  11,3 4794- scaling OK
11,5 4890- scaling wrong size goes down!

*Adobe Helvetica*

pt size OO115 OO203
  matrix scale

  11,0 4692 - scaling OK
  11,1 4693 - rounding problem?
  11,3 4794 - scaling OK
  11,5 4896 - scaling OK

I did not check the numbers for the spacing but it seems obvious that
there is something wrong with OO115 at 11.1 pt and with OO203 at 11.3
and 11.5 pt.

I would expect scaling and spacing to be monotonic increasing with
increasing pt size.
