In BadValu.ods, the formula in cell B3 gives a VALUE error. Why?
Now, do this:
0: put anything, eg, 'h' in cell A2;
1: select cell B3, hit f2 to edit it;
2: delete and reinsert any character, such as 'r' or '3';
3: hit Enter: no more error!

But, if you omit either step 0 or 2, the error remains.

select 1st '(?t+ß)', hit ^v: 'X' replaces string. But... EOL is not refreshed
properly: spurious -ß).

(apparently) 2 spurious -ß) and 3 EOL!
It's only a redisplay problem; hitting PgDn and Pgup clears the spurious

I edited FilB, FilC, and OO crashed. It saved FilB, FilC.
b: When I restarted OO, it showed 3 files to recover: FilA, FilB, FilC, but

been saved after the crash.
c: I closed OO, saving the files FilB, FilC, and reopened it: then, it listed

in Format.ods, col A has been formated for dates -MM-DD, col B in font 
CourierNew, number 0.00.
Select A3-B3, drag it to A4-B4, leaving A3-B3 blank; enter '9-14' in A3, get 
'09/14/10' (old format); enter '7' in B3, get '7' in Arial instead of '7.00' in 
CourierNew.
It's understandable --blank cells get the default format-- but annoying in most 
cases.
Suggested enhancement: when a whole column has been formatted (by clicking its 
header A, B, ..), the format should be inherited by any empty row. The user can 
always reformat individual cells.
The current behaviour could be retained if the special format was applied to a 
block of cells instead of a whole column.

In HypCheck.odt, hyperlink @ has been set to Bbbb #3 (sec.1.1.4). ^Click on it, 
get the FIRST one, Bbbb #1 --wrong. Apparently, hyperlink remembers only the 
heading ('Bbbb'), not its location in the document.
In a long document, the same heading, such as 'Definition', can be reused 
several

OK. This behaviour fits the definition. But it's so counter-intuitive that even
a Forum moderator (Hagar de l'est) writes: This is a bug IMHO. It has always
existed I think. But 3.2.1 is worse at resetting the defaults of a paragraph.
   So, there may be an enhancement: reset completely a style by:
** double-clicking the style in the stylist --that's what the average user
expects; double-clicking does not imply 'direct formatting only';
** or by hitting ^m twice: The first time, it just 'removes direct formatting
and ...'; the 2nd time, it also resets changes done by styles.

but left open the question: why does 'default formatting' (^m) not reset the
numbering, if the default format specifies 'none'?
In FirstLin.odt, right-click 'aaa', or click FormatParag:
IndentsSpacing.FirstLineIndent=0.25: wrong. OutlineNumbering: Numbering3:
wrong. 'aaa' is supposed to be of style FirstLineIndent, but it's not; hitting
^m (default formatting) does not help.

When setting a hyperlink to a heading, all headings have the same numbering
pattern: 1, 1.1, ..1.3.6, .., indépendent from the one used in the document,
which can use a mix of numbers and upper- and lower-case letters with various

get Table_Format. Tab Table: Width=9.6 in; alignment: manual. Tab Columns: col.
width = 0.60, 1.01, 0.98, .., 0.99. Return to Tab Table, set alignment: center.
Go back to tab Columns: widths of col.1..5 are all upset: 1.79, 0.02, 0.02,
1.18! But, not really: click OK, table is the same; return to

Thank you! I finally found the warning under HelpFontsColorFont Color.
Now, to avoid a repeat, may I suggest an enhancement:
the help index should include entries 'font color' and 'character color'. These
are likely the keywords a user will try when faced with this problem. Redundant

There seems to be a misunderstanding. This is not a matter for the visually
impaired.
Highlighting (not magnifying, or zooming on) the current line is a very simple
and basic feature which many plain-text editors provide --for good reason: show
the user (even the one with good eyesight) where current editing takes place.

The current line in a writer document should be highlighted across the window
--even past the end-of-parag, if any-- to make it highly visible.  (The blinking
cursor can be hard to see.) This highlight would be independent from the
selection. Users who do not want it could make it invisible by matching its
colours to those of regular text. Or, it could by an option.
This is related to, but separate from, issue 102551: as a sring is found, it
would be easier to see as the highlighted current line would be moved to it.

In MergA.ods, click on (triple) cell A1, copy it (^c), paste it (^v) to A3: get
cannot_do_it_msg 'cell merge not possible if cells already merged!'
  To do the copy, one has to 'unmerge' the cells A3 and C3 (by 'merging' them),
then do the copy; Calc should do that, instead of popping the cannot_do_it_msg.

  Calc also refuses to merge A3 and C3. One has to unmerge them, then highlight
A3..D3, click Merge, and answer the_question: 'Should the contents...?'.  Again,
Calc should do that --including the_question, which should have (beside the
Yes/No choice) a Cancel option, in case the user did not foresee the
implications of his/her request.

  In conclusion, the solution to this whole issue seems simple: Calc should do
automatically all the necessary 'unmerge', then do the requested operation. (If
that gives an unexpected or unwanted result, the user can undo it.)
  Since all the required steps are already programmed, it should be fairly easy
(through a few procedure calls) to substitute them for the cannot_do_it_msg.

In LnkY.ods, cell A1 is linked to variable X in LnkX.ods. But it's not shown in
any way. In fact, the value can be changed or deleted 'by hand'... until the
link is updated.
For a calculated cell, the input line shows the formula, not its result. For a
linked cell, the input line should show the link, so that the user knows the
datum was not just entered by hand.
In fact, all linked or calculated cells should have a special format, eg, a
different colour, because the user does not always look at the input line.

keep track of Xa (eg, when a row in inserted before), and the aa formula would
still give the right result.

Why? This formula uses nothing that was in the deleted row.
Then, check var names with ^F3, click Cancel; no change.

In FLIA.odt, put cursor after 'zzz', hit Enter, get new parag of style
FirstLineIndent, with font Arial (abnormal, since FirstLineIndent font is
specified to be TNR (TimesNewRoman); anyway...).
Copy 'Pour... intégrons', paste it to the empty parag below zzz: the style is
now Numbering3 as expected, but the font is Arial up to the comma; only
'intégrons' has the correct font.
This may be related to issue 100425, but it's closed.

Sorry,the problem description was incorrect. Try this:
Open TstBas.ods; in cell A1, add 'new stuff'
hit ~f11 to open Basic; Edit TstBas:ModA module: change 'Jim' to 'Bob'
Try ToolsExtensionMgr ; no response -- BugEMgr, not in question here
^q: OO closes without any dialog; or: it crashes --because of BugEMgr;
restart: OO offers to recover TstBas
recovery successful
TstBas.ods opens with 'new stuff' in cell A1 --OK, that was saved
But: macro edit was lost; 'Jim' is back.
Conclusion: it seems that that autosave saves the document but forgets to save
macros

The first macro offered is from MyMacros, not from TstUndef; I have to click on
'+' beside Tst.ods to display its macro library, and open this library to acces
its module for editing.
It would be better to offer immediately the Tst.ods library, because

more likely what the user wants to edit.

From a spreadsheet, open the macro editor; add a macro. Close the editor, then
the spreadsheet. OK.
But, if you close the spreadsheet first (which is easy), the macro is not saved
--no warning. Nasty (unless you enjoy wasting 2 hours of work).
This may be issue 73521, which is 'Fixed'.

Not updated... because nothing has been done about it. The issue IS still valid,
but involves more than fixing a bug. It implies a fairly extensive re-design
--eg, integrate styles with outline numbering. Some 'supervisor' has to give a
push in the right direction. Once the redesign is done, many style-related
issues will vanish.
