@clu : I don't have Leopard, so I'll have to see if the problem occurs with
Tiger.

Hi,

I've tried :
NeoOffice 2.2.3 patch 2
Aqua OpenOffice.org 2.4 (build m243)
OpenOffice.org 2.4 X11

I can not reproduce the crash, the wizard executes correctly and I can assign
the field names of my MySQL table to the placeholders.

Questions to the original poster :

- are you using a local or a remote MySQL database (mine is a local, i.e. same
workstation server) ?
- which version of MyODBC (mine is 3.51.23) ?

Alex

The OP should also have in mind that the Java wizards don't work on Leopard for
the current implementations of OOo. If the Change Address datasource wizard is
Java based, then the problem is one for Mac porting, and not for Database
access.

Correction to my last statement : the Java wizards don't work for the 2.3 series
on Leopard, but should work for 2.4, at least according to this thread :

Hi,

I upgraded to Leopard and have trouble since then to access my MySQL Database.
The following
problem happens under the latest Openoffice using X11 (2.3), the Aqua alpha nad
even NeoOffice.
When I try to access or create an Address Source that is connected to MySQL
using Connector ODBC,
OpenOffice crashes instantly.

Steps to reproduce:
Here are steps to reproduce the error that works every time here (this one
does not even really access
MyODBC):
1. File - Wizards - Address Data Source
2. other external data source, Next
3. Settings
4. MySQL (ODBC), Next
5. As Name type in any NON Existing (or existing) data source name
6. click Test Connection

This crash is even reproductive if MyODBC is NOT installed or when I don't use
the actual Name of my
database.
